C lean and simple birthday card using Stampin' Up! products in an out-of-the-box way.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-3.4" from Basic White Cardstock
DO THIS STEP FIRST!
Place the 2 small pieces of Basic White Cardstock on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet.
Squeeze some Black Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics onto the large white rectangle. Use a paintbrush to spread the enamel around until it covers the whole rectangle in a thin layer. Add more enamel if needed.
Squeeze some Real Red Pearlized Enamel Effects Basics onto the small white rectangle. Use a different paintbrush to spread the enamel around until it covers the whole rectangle in a thin layer. Add more enamel if needed.
Set the pieces aside to dry.
Rinse the paintbrushes thoroughly under running water and allow to air dry.
Pick out the second largest die from the Stitched With Whimsy Dies. Put it on top of the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered on the paper. Run through the machine.
Note: This die doesn't cut anything out. It just adds some stitching.
As you are ready to stamp using the Beautiful Balloons Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Happy Birthday," "So thrilled for you," "Yay You!," or "You did it!" sentiment of choice from the Beautiful Balloons Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the vertical, stitched white rectangle in the lower right corner of the stitched area.
Adhere the stamped and stitched white rectangle to the front of the Real Red card.
Once your enamel rectangles are completely dry, proceed with the next steps.
Pick out the small and medium, open balloon dies from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. Put them on top of the red enamel rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Tip: Use a newer Cutting Plate if possible to prevent little lines and tiny bits of cardstock from getting embedded into the enamel cut outs.

Cut 3 pieces each about 2-1/2" long of the black twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere two of the twine pieces to the backs of the small and medium balloon cut outs. Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the remaining twine piece to the back of the large balloon cut out. Leave all the protective backings in place for now.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the balloons with twine attached to the front of the card to figure out spacing and placement.
One at a time, remove the protective backings from the adhesives and add more Stampin' Seal or Stampin' Dimensionals as needed and adhere the balloon cut outs to the front of the card as shown.
Peel a Mini Glue Dot up from the roll and adhere it to the front of the card about half way between the bottoms of the balloons and the bottom row of stitching so it is centered below the balloons. Pull the twine pieces together and adhere them to the Mini Glue Dot.
Cut a 3" piece of the Real Red ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card so it is centered over the twine pieces where they are adhered together on the Mini Glue Dot.
