C ombine two great sets to create a perfect beach scene..great for any kind of card from bday to anniversary, " thinking of you" or anything in between! The sponging makes all the difference in creating this beautiful card!
Project Recipe
Use a 5.5"x4..25" piece of typing/computer to mask the front of card for sponging the sand, sea and sky. Tear the typing paper in half resulting in 2 irregular masks at 5.5 " long and in a strip about 2" wide. (See photo) To make it easy just label the top mask "sky" and the bottom mask "sand.
Align the straight edges of the mask labeled "sky mask" along the top straight edge of the white cardstock piece so it covers the top 2/3rd of the white cardstock "sky". . 1 a.)Hold the sky mask in place while sponging Crumb Cake ink along bottom 1/3rd of card to create the beach.
2) Next remove the "sky mask" and use the mask labeled "sand mask" to cover the "sand" area... make sure the mask labeled "sand" matches up with irregular torn pattern from the sky mask. . .Hold the "sand" mask along the long straight edge at bottom of card so the torn/ jagged edges match up with the crumb cake sponged edges and cover bottom of card so you can sponge the Bermuda Bay ocean and sky in place without blending the tan and blue inks. After you finish sponging the Bermuda Bay remove both masks and use the "waves" image from High Tide and full strength Bermuda Bay ink to stamp some ocean waves along horizon where the beach meets the sky.
--Stamp your desired sentiment in top left corner using black ink then Use the flying birds image from the High Tide stamp with black ink to add some seagulls flying along the shore high above the beach. I wanted one bird flying across the sun so I stamped a single seagull onto the yellow circle before I stuck it on the card so if you like that you can do it too or just stick with the flock of flying gulls if you'd rather.
-3) -Place Daffodil Delight punched circle in top right corner of sky for the sun.
Step 4) Decide if you want white beach chairs or bright colored chairs. If you like them white adhere the diecut beach chairs as is but, if you prefer some color use a sponge and Calypso Coral ink to color them to your desired brightnesss.
this is how it looks with only one chair
and here's what I sfamped on the inside.
I hope you like this card...I had a lot of fun with it and can almost hear the ocean sounds when I look at it! Even without all the layering it's a very cute card.
here's the inside of the card
