F un Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of tiny white "boo!" words all over black background from Cute Halloween 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the words are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
Pick out the grouping of circles die from the Picture This Dies. Put it on top of the vertical designer paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the die is centered on the designer paper with a medium circle on the left bottom and a small circle on the right bottom. Run through the machine.
Tip: KEEP ALL THE PIECES. You can use the cut out circles on another project. You are using the big piece of designer paper with circles cut out of it on this project.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the designer paper with the holes cut out of it on top of the Highland Heather rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Banner Year Set or Cute Halloween Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Boo!" sentiment from the Banner Year Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the small circle cut out in the upper right corner.
Mount the "happy haunting" sentiment from the Banner Year Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the large, center circle cut out.
Mount the spider web image from the Banner Year Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the small, center circle cut out. Don't worry if some of the strands stamp on the designer paper.
Mount the small spider image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the small circle cut out in the lower right corner.
Lift the designer paper with holes cut out of it off the stamped Highland Heather rectangle.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw a string from the top of the stamped spider image towards the top. The string should only be about 1/2" long.
Adhere the designer paper with the holes cut out of it over the top of the stamped Highland Heather rectangle so all the images and sentiments show through the holes.
Adhere the layered designer paper/cardstock to the center of the Basic Black rectangle and then to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Mount the outline ghost image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom edge of the long, skinny white strip.
Mount the solid ghost image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the ghost outline image.
Mount the ghost face and arms image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the ghost image. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave the stamp on the block.
Unlock the Halloween Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped ghost outline image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Slide the other end of the white strip into the unlocked Halloween Punch and punch out another ghost shape.
Flip the plain white ghost shape over so the tail of the ghost is pointing to the left.
Re-ink the ghost face and arms image on Block A with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the plain white ghost punch out.
Adhere the purple ghost punch out to the front of the card so it appears to be coming out of the bottom right side of the medium circle cut out on the bottom.
Adhere the white ghost punch out to the front of the card so it appears to be coming out of the lower left side of the medium circle cut out at the top.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up three different sizes of Highland Heather stars from the sheet of Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card around the circle cut outs.
