I n our first West Coast Creators Blog Hop, we decided to made cards using products that are retiring soon. My baby card is made using the Welcome Easter stamp set, Best Dressed Designer Series Paper, and Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon, all of which are retiring.
Cut a card base 11" x 4-1/4", and score at 5-1/2". Cut a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of the striped Best Dressed Designer Series Paper (DSP), and adhere to the front of the card. Cut two 5-1/4" x 4" pieces of the Purple Posy floral Best Dressed Designer Series Paper (DSP), and adhere to both sides of the inside of the card.
Cut the tag (Bonanza Dies) from a 4" x 2-1/2" piece of floral Best Dressed DSP, and stamp with "Welcome" sentiment. Fold a 5" piece of Mint Macaron 1/4" Textile Ribbon in half, loop through the tag, and pull the ends through the loop. Adhere to the card front. Stamp the bunny on Whisper White cardstock and colour with Dark and Light Smoky Slate and Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, and outline the bunny using Pool Party. Die cut the bunny and a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Cut the Pretty Peacock tag, cut in half, separate by about 1/8", and glue to the back of the bunny tag. Adhere to card front with Dimensionals.
Cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock 11" x 1-5/8". Score at 5-1/2", then turn over and score at 2-3/4" and 8-1/4". Fold accordion style. Glue first section to left edge of Purple Posy DSP (NOT edge of card!), and fourth section to right edge of DSP--the centre two sections will pop up at the middle.
Cut two 2" x 2" squares of Whisper White Cardstock, and two 2" x 2" squares of striped Best Dressed DSP. On one 2" x 2" piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the sentiment, and on another stamp the lamb. Colour the lamb with Dark and Light Smoky Slate, Light Petal Pink, and Light Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends, and outline with Light Pool Party. Cut four scalloped squares--from 2-1/2" squares of Pretty Peacock, die cut the second largest rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly Dies, reposition, and cut again to form squares. Adhere striped pieces of DSP, sentiment, and lamb to the scalloped squares. Glue to 1-5/8" strip, being careful to glue the second and third squares ONLY to the raised strip. See the photo.
On a 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White cardstock, stamp the chick, sentiment, and bee. Sponge the sky using Balmy Blue; colour the bee and chick with Light and Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends. Add grass, if desired, and colour with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends. Adhere to back of the card. See the photo.
