F inal card I created for the RemARKably Creative Blog Tour - Succulent Garden Suite using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut card stock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Sweet Sugarplum Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mint Macaron Card Stock
- 3-3/4" x 5" of center of closely spaced black outline flowers and vines on white background design of paper from Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper, make sure you get the large flower image so it is to the left side of the paper
-scrap of Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper from the 6"x6" Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack at least 1-3/4" square
- 2-1/2" square from Sweet Sugarplum Card Stock
Lightly ink up a Sponge Dauber by rubbing it across the Mint Macaron Ink Pad and then lightly rubbing it all over the piece of Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper. Re-ink as needed. Don't apply the ink too darkly though.
Lightly ink up another Sponge Dauber by rubbing it across the Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad. Use it to color in most of the large flower. Re-ink as needed. Get as close to the edges of the petals as you can without going over the lines.
Use the fine-tip of the Mint Macaron Marker to color in the vines and stems.
Squeeze the lid of the Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Use a Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the puddle in the lid and color in the edges of the large flower petals as needed. Make some of the stripes on the petals darker as well. Also color in some of the smaller flowers and flower centers as desired. Pick up more ink from the pad lid as needed. Remember to stroke the tip of the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the designer paper could start to pill and tear. Make some areas darker for a shading effect. When you are done coloring with the Sweet Sugarplum color, scribble the tip of the Blender Pen back and forth on scratch paper until no more color is coming off.
Repeat the step above using the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Color in the bell shaped flowers and some other small flowers and flower centers as desired. Clean the Blender Pen.
Repeat the step above using the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Color in some of the leaves as desired. Clean the Blender Pen.
Repeat the step above using the Old Olive Ink Pad. Color in the rest of the leaves as desired. Clean the Blender Pen.
When happy with the coloring job on the designer paper, adhere the designer paper to the Mint Macaron layer and then to the front of the Sweet Sugarplum card.
Adhere a Falling in Love Embellishment to the center of the large flower using Mini Glue Dots.
Mount the thanks sentiment from the Avant Garden Photopolymer Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Sweet Sugarplum square.
Use the 1-3/8" Circle Punch to punch out the sentiment so the sentiment is in the center of the circle.
Use the 1-1/2" Circle Punch to punch out a circle from the scrap of Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the glimmer paper circle using pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere the sentiment circles to the card front just to the lower right of the large flower using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Sweet Sugarplum ribbon from the Succulent Garden 3/8" Ribbon Combo Pack. Tie a half knot. Trim ends. Adhere to the card front just to the bottom left of the sentiment circles using a Mini Glue Dot.
