Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5" of tiny gold diamonds on vanilla background design from Season Of Green & Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" of vanilla leaves and pine boughs on gold foil background design from Season Of Green & Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" of gold metallic from Textured Metallic 12" x 12" Specialty Paper
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
Place the leaves and pine boughs on gold foil background piece of Season Of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Paper on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Old Olive Ink Pad to get it inky. Gently rub the inky brush all over the designer paper piece. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Continue until you've covered the entire piece of designer paper with the ink coverage you want. Use a tissue or paper towel to rub off excess ink puddled on top of the foil.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the blended designer paper piece to the center of the tiny gold diamonds piece of Season Of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Paper.
Cut a 6" piece of the Very Vanilla 3/4" Satin Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon horizontally across the horizontal, layered designer paper rectangle so it is 1-1/4" from the bottom. Fold the left end of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive under the ribbon on the front to hold it in place. Make sure to leave at least 3" of the ribbon on the right side unadhered.
Adhere the layered designer paper rectangle with ribbon attached to the front of the Old Olive card. Make sure the loose end of the ribbon is on the right side.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the Old Olive rectangle.
Mount the "Change can be beautiful" sentiment from the Autumn Expressions Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal Old Olive rectangle.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the sentiment completely. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Pick out the large, connected frames die from the Autumn Expressions Dies. Put it on top of the stamped and heat embossed sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the frame with the thinnest line frame is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Leave the die out.
Note: You are using the solid inside of the frame with the sentiment stamped on it for this project. Just recycle any bits of Old Olive outline frame.
Put the large, connected frames die on top of the gold metallic sheet rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the frame with the fatter line frame is centered over the rectangle. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Note: You are using the thin gold frame for this project. Save the interior piece to use on another project.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the tabs along the top and bottom of the gold frame.
Adhere the solid sentiment label cut out to the front of the card so it is centered top to bottom over the ribbon and is on the left side of the blended designer paper rectangle.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the gold frame cut out to the front of the card so it fits around the sentiment label.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the gold ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Tie the gold ribbon around the loose end of the vanilla ribbon just to the right of the framed sentiment label using a knot. Trim the ends of the thin gold ribbon. Trim the loose end of the vanilla ribbon at a sharp angle.
Carefully punch out one small, closed wing butterfly from a sheet of Paper Butterfly Accents.
Press the butterfly firmly onto the open VersaMark Pad so the butterfly's body and antennae are on the right side.
Lay the VersaMark inked butterfly in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the butterfly completely. Carefully tap off excess powder trying to touch as little of the butterfly body as possible. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Carefully lay the powdery butterfly on a heat proof surface like a coaster. Make sure the butterfly's body and antennae are on the left side. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to hold the butterfly in place on the heat proof surface while you heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the heat embossed butterfly to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the top right side of the framed sentiment label.
