T he adorable critters from the Animal Outing stamp set work great for a "pop & twist" style card...there was a wee bit of a learning curve for me on the mechanics of this card (I am NOT an engineering type) but eventually I got the hang of it! I really appreciated the detailed tutorial in the Splitcoast Stampers website...check it out at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com under tutorials/Pop 'n Twist.

The front of my card is pretty plain...the fun begins when you open the card!
When you open the card...you get this!!
This is what the pop up mechanism looks like as if does it's "twist and pop" thing.
Create a "belly band" to skip over the card once it's folded shut.
You can stamp images into the fold out panels or make it into an adorable photo book. I can see doing this booklet with photos of our grandson to give to his great grandmother! Wouldn't that be adorable?
The front of the booklet looks very simple...I put a piece of decorative paper cut slightly smaller than the front cover on the front (,from Daisy Delight Designer Series paper) then used the Pretty Label punch and a 1 and 3/4 inch circle punch to embellish the "bellyband" to keep the card folded up. I sponged Old Olive ink around the white edges of the front cardstock panel to blend in with the green colors in the DSP.
