Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 7" x 8-1/2" and scored at 3-1/2"
- 3-3/8" x 8-3/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3-3/8" x 6" of watercolor forest on lake with sunset design from New Horizons 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the design is horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2 strips each 1" x 3-3/8" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
Mount the flying birds image from the On The Horizon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it on the upper right side of the New Horizons Designer Paper rectangle.
Adhere the strips of Soft Succulent Cardstock to the back of the stamped designer paper so about 1/4" shows along the top edge and about 3/8" shows along the bottom edge. The left and right sides will be even.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the matted and stamped designer paper rectangle on the long white rectangle so the left and right sides are even and the top of the Soft Succulent strip is about 1/2" from the top edge of the white rectangle.
Mount the "thanks for everything" sentiment from the On The Horizon Set on Block G. Carefully press only the word "thanks" to the side of the open Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp the word "thanks" just below the bottom Soft Succulent strip on the left side of the white rectangle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Carefully press only the words "for everything" on the sentiment on Block G to the side of the open Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp the words "for everything" just below the previously stamped word "thanks" and about 5/8" from the left edge of the white rectangle.
When happy with the stamping of the sentiment, adhere the matted and stamped designer paper rectangle in place on the stamped white rectangle so it is just above the sentiment and the left and right edges are even.
Adhere the white rectangle with the matted designer paper attached to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
Mount the tree image from the Amazing Silhouettes Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining, smaller white rectangle.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Soft Succulent Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over the stamped tree image to color in the leaves. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Make sure you have a piece of Grid Paper under the rectangle to protect your work surface.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use the Soft Suede Marker to color in the trunk and branches of the tree.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the image by hand.
Adhere the cut out tree image to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom of the matted designer paper on the right edge. The bottom of the tree should be even with the bottom of the stamped sentiment.
Mail your card using one of the Soft Succulent envelopes from the Slimline Envelopes.
