Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5" of multi-colored small dots on light purple background design from How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" x 4" of tiny light blue dots on slightly darker blue background design from How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper
- 3/4" x 3-1/4" of pink diagonal stripes design from How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/14" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" from Melon Mambo Cardstock
- 2" x 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the large piece of multi-colored dots on light purple background of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper to the front of the Gorgeous Grape card at a slight angle.
Adhere the medium piece of tiny light blue dots on slightly darker blue background of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper to the front of the card at a slight angle so it is about 1-1/4" from the top on the right side.
Unlock the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide the Granny Apple Green Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Unlock the 2" Circle Punch. Slide the Daffodil Delight Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the Daffodil Delight circle to the Granny Apple Green circle so it is not quite centered.
Adhere the matted circles to the front of the card so the top of the circles sticks over the top of the blue strip of designer paper about 1/2" and it is about 1/2" from the left side of the designer paper strip.
Adhere the small piece of pink diagonal stripes of How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the bottom of the circles and the bottom of the blue dots designer paper strip.
Cut a 4" piece of Highland Heather Ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack so the ends have sharp angles.
Lay the ribbon at a slight angle across the strip of pink diagonal stripes designer paper. Use a very small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the ribbon in place on the right side where it will be hidden by the sentiment in a later step.
As you are ready to stamp using the Amazing Life Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the cake with candle image from the Amazing Life Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Melon Mambo strip of cardstock. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and the Stampin' Scrub. Leave the stamp on the block.
Mount the "Life's too short ..." sentiment from the Amazing Life Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white cardstock.
Use Paper Snips to carefully cut out the cake and candle image. Don't worry about cutting out the flame on the top of the candle.
Use Paper Snips to carefully cut out the sentiment using straight lines. Keep a scrap of white paper to stamp the candle flame on in a later step.
Place the cut out sentiment on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the letters in the word "cake."
Adhere the cut out cake and cut out and colored sentiment to the front of the card so they overlap each other a bit and overlap the circles, designer paper strips, and ribbon.
Ink up the top of the cake with candle image with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad and stamp it onto a scrap of white cardstock so you get the flame.
Place the flame stamped scrap on paper to protect your work surface and use the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the flame.
Carefully cut out the colored in flame with Paper Snips.
Use a tiny dab of Fine-Tip Glue or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the flame to the card front so it is over the candle.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the a large Coastal Cabana dot, a medium Gorgeous Grape dot, and a small Granny Apple Green dot from a sheet of Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere the dots to the front of the card as shown.
