T his month I am scheduled to present a class on February 17th. Check out my website for further details. www.1phatchic.stampinup.net I am a huge fan of Kristina Werner at KWerner Designs. This morning I was watching one of her episodes from last February where she was teaching a watercolor class and I thought how can I translate this to our current product. Well this is my interpretation of her class with current product. If you pair these products with the Sale A Bration you could give a stunning gift a Tin of Cards as a gift. It's never to early to prepare for Graduations, Mothers Day, or Birthdays. A tin of these cards full of Thank You Cards would be perfect for any graduate. Remember that SAB lasts until the end of March and with any purchase of $50.00 you can receive a gorgeous gold card tin. You can email me at 1phatchicdesign@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Project Recipe
Cut your card bases to normal size. Here I used Melon Mambo and Tempting Tourquoise. Take an 8 1/2" x 11" and cut into two card bases that measure 8 1/2 " x 5 1/2".
Cut your watercolor paper 5 1.4" x 4"
Take your favorite framelit and place it cut side down on the paper and trace around it with a pencil. I used the Sassy Hearts, Dragonfly, and Hot Air Balloon Framelits. I think the Best Birds would be outstanding and of course the Christmas Trees would be gorgeous.
Using Masking Fluid which you can pick up at any craft retailer or online store. I used a paint brush to apply. In hind site I believe that you could use a plasic knive of clay sculpting piece to apply as it ruins your brush. Make sure to push it away from your image instead of towards it. Let it dry completely.
Tape your water color paper to your board and add color by burping our ink pads. Then add clean water over your image. After you have wet your images use your aqua painter to add desired colors.
I used three colors in different combinations. My favorite was the first Heart that I did with Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Watermelon Wonder.
You can speed up drying with your heat tool. I did the water droplet technique as well. Gently drop a few drops of clean water on your water colored image. The lightly dab with a papertowel and it will remove color in that spot.
You can use your aqua painter and gently flick on a few desired colors.
Completely dry your work with either a heat tool or go do something else and come back. After your work is COMPLETELY dry use your embossing buddy and then with Versamark add your seniment.
Use your desired color of embossing powder. I used gold.
Adhere your watercolor paper to your card base with Fast Fuse it will hold better I promise.
The possibilities are endless here is my Thank You option.
You can jazz your cards up or let them speak for themselves. This one was with the birthday sentiment for the Carousel set.
Here is one of my two Valentines Cards.
