Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- approximately 2-1/2" x 4" of green hilly fields design from Day At The Farm 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the hills are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Balmy Blue Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush across the inside of the front flap of the Into The Clouds Embossing Folder. The front flap is the one with the logo and line printed on it. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Insert the large Basic White rectangle into the inky Into The Clouds Embossing Folder so the lines of the folder will be horizontal on the vertical rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Tip: Clean the embossing folder when done by running it under water until no more color is coming off. Allow to air dry.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the top long edge of the horizontal Day At The Farm Designer Paper rectangle by following one of the hill contour lines.
Adhere the cut down designer paper rectangle to the bottom of the dry embossed vertical white rectangle.
Adhere the dry embossed rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
Pick out the slightly rounded square speech bubble with some hash marks along the edges and the point sticking off to the right die from the Conversation Bubbles Dies. Put it on top of the 2-1/4" Basic White square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Leave the die out.
Note: You are using the solid white speech bubble cut out on this project. Throw away or keep to use on another project the outline white speech bubble.
Put the speech bubble die on top of the 2-1/4" Balmy Blue square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Note: You are using the outline blue speech bubble cut out on this project. Throw away or keep to use on another project the solid blue speech bubble.
Place the solid white speech bubble cut out on your work surface so the point is pointing off to the left.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Adorable Owls Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the solid white speech bubble cut out.
Use the inky Small Blending Brush to add some light blue color along the edges of the sentiment stamped speech bubble cut out.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the stamped and sponged speech bubble cut out to the front of the card in the upper right corner at an angle as shown. Make sure the point is pointing to the left.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the blue outline speech bubble to the front of the card so it frames the sentiment speech bubble as shown.
Mount the flying owl image from the Adorable Owls Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 2" x 2-1/4" white rectangle.
Place the stamped owl on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the top of the owl's head and ears and the owl's wings and body around his belly and his eyes.
Use the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends to color in the owl's beak and feet.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Leave the face and belly of the owl white.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the owl by hand.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out owl to the front of the card as shown so he overlaps the bottom left side of the speech bubble a bit.
