Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Sahara Sand Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" of blue and white stripes design from Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are vertical across the vertical paper
- 1" x 2-1/2" of map patterns on green background design from Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper
Mount the guy in chair image from the A Good Man Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the Sahara Sand rectangle. Leave room below for the sentiment.
Mount the skinny sentiment of choice from the A Good Man Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it below the guy in chair image so it is centered.
Put the stamped cardstock on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring the man in the chair image with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light Night of Navy Marker to color in some of the stripes of the chair.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive Markers to color in the man's shirt.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Suede Markers to color in the man's hat and shorts.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Unlock theBanner Triple Punch. Slide one short edge of one of the strips of designer paper into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other strip.
Adhere the punched strips of designer paper to the upper left side of the stamped and colored rectangle. Let the smaller strip overlap the bigger one on the right side a bit and make it a little shorter.
Use Paper Snips to trim off excess designer paper.
Adhere the stamped and colored rectangle with the designer paper attached to the Night of Navy rectangle and then to the front of the Sahara Sand card.
Cut an 8” piece of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine.
Tie a small bow in the center of the twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow to the card front in the center of the banners.
