G reat masculine card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of light blue compass roses on dark blue background design from Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
Lightly spray the small Sahara Sand rectangle with water. This will help you get a deeper impression when you dry emboss it.
Insert the damp Sahara Sand rectangle into the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder so the lines will be horizontal when the cardstock is vertical. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Adhere the piece of Come Sail Away Designer Paper to the large Sahara Sand rectangle and then to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
Mount the "being a good dad..." sentiment from the A Good Man Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it near the top of the Balmy Blue rectangle in the center.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Rectangle Stitched Dies that cuts out a 1-7/16" x 2-3/4" rectangle. Place the stamped sentiment rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched rectangle die on top so the sentiment is as close to the top as possible. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the sentiment rectangle cut out back on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched rectangle die back on top of the bottom of the sentiment rectangle at an angle so it will cut a notch in the bottom of the sentiment rectangle turning the sentiment rectangle into a banner. Make sure the top of the notch is near the bottom of the stamped sentiment and everything is even. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
If the dry embossed Sahara Sand rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Cut a 4" piece of the 3/8" Linen Ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
Fold the ribbon in half. Adhere the folded top of the ribbon to the right side of the upside down corrugated Sahara Sand rectangle using a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive so that the loose ends of the ribbon hang down.
Add more Tear & Tape strips to the back of the corrugated Sahara Sand rectangle and remove the protective backings. Adhere the corrugated Sahara Sand rectangle with ribbon attached to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and the top of the rectangle is about 3/4" from the top.
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the sentiment banner cut out to the center of the corrugated Sahara Sand rectangle so it is about 3/8" from the top, left, and right sides of the Sahara Sand rectangle.
Pick out a ship's wheel element from the Sail Away Trinkets.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ship's wheel trinket to the lower right side of the sentiment banner so it is centered across the right edge of the banner.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Night of Navy dot from a sheet of Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the ship's wheel trinket.
Cut an 8" piece of the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine.
Tie a small bow in the center of the twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon pieces hanging from the bottom of the corrugated Sahara Sand rectangle.
