P layful birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Parakeet Party Cardstock
- 1" x 4-1/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
Pick out the long, solid die with lines across it from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. Put it on top of the horizontal 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" Parakeet Party rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it will cut along the top. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the top of the die cut Parakeet Party rectangle in a wavy line to make grass.
Put the long, solid die with lines across it on top of the strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered on the cardstock. Run through the machine.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut one long edge off the die cut Granny Apple Green strip to make it fringe. Make the cut line slightly wavy.
Mount the "something great to celebrate - you!" sentiment from the Zany Zoo Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the bottom left corner of the fringed Parakeet Party rectangle so the fringe is on the top.
Adhere the stamped and fringed Parakeet Party rectangle to the bottom of the vertical Coastal Cabana rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess Parakeet Party cardstock on the left and right edges.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the fringed strip of Granny Apple Green to the layered Coastal Cabana/Parakeet Party rectangle so the fringe of the Granny Apple Green is just below the fringe of the Parakeet Party. Cut off any excess Granny Apple Green cardstock on the right and left edges as needed.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Parakeet Party 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the layered cardstock rectangle so it covers the seam between the bottom of the Granny Apple Green fringe and the Parakeet Party layer. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Coastal Cabana rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Unlock the Cloud Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the white strip into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. Keep all the pieces.
Adhere the punched out cloud to the top of the front of the card on the left side as shown.
Pick out the small cloud die from the Zany Zoo Dies. Put it on top of the remaining white strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Repeat one more time so you have two small cloud cut outs.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the two small cloud cut outs to the front of the card in the upper right corner as shown.
Pick out both small, solid balloon dies from the Zany Zoo Dies. Put them on top of the small Poppy Parade rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Repeat one more time with one balloon die so you have 3 balloon cut outs.
Cut a 1-1/2" piece, a 2" piece, and a 2-1/2" piece of Linen Thread.
Use a small bit of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the 2" piece and 2-1/2" piece of Linen Thread to the back of two of the balloon cut outs.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape bits and adhere the two balloons to the card front as shown so the long one overlaps the upper left side of the cloud and the shorter one is near the center of the cloud.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the 1-1/2" piece of Linen Thread to the back of the remaining balloon cut out.
Remove the protective backing from the dimensional and adhere the remaining balloon to the card front as shown so it is just below the other two balloons and overlaps the bottom left side of the cloud punch out.
Gather the loose ends of the Linen Thread together and use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to secure the bottom ends to the card front near the center about 3/4" above the top of the fringe.
Mount the bicycle riding alligator image from the Zany Zoo Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" Lemon Lime Twist rectangle.
Pick out the matching bicycle riding alligator die from the Zany Zoo Dies. Put it on top of the image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the bicycle riding alligator cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the gator's back bumps and along the top of his back and head and under his chin.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blend to lighten and blend the Granny Apple Green into the alligator. Leave most of his belly, arms, and legs uncolored.
Use the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the flowers in the basket and the bike frame.
Use the Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the bike seat and pedals.
Use the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves of the flowers in the basket.
Use the Medium Deep Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the basket.
Use the Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the tires,
Use the Light Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the gears and centers of the wheels.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blend to remove any excess color as needed.
Use the Light Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to color in all the areas around the rest of the image.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored bicycle riding alligator cut out to the front of the card as shown. Make sure the wheels are tucked into the top of the fringe and that you cover the Tear & Tape holding the ends of the Linen Thread in place. If needed, trim off excess Linen Thread before adhering the image in place.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Parakeet Party 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon,
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the right side. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim and fray the ends.
