Project Recipe
Cut Whisper White Thick card stock 5.5 x 8.5, score at 4.25 and fold to create a top fold A2 greeting card
Cut Whisper White regular card stock 4 x 5.5
Set this up to emboss the long edge with the scallop die from Delicate Lace Edgelits die set.
To do this and keep the die straight while embossing I use the grid paper lining up the piece of card stock with the grid and then using the grid to keep the die straight. I then place Washi Tape on the die to keep it in place. That way when you turn it over to set it up for embossing it stays put.
Emboss the card stock with the die using the following sandwich:
1. Standard platform
2. clear cutting plate
3. die with cutting side facing up
4. card stock you are embossing (in this case the die is already attached with washi tape simplie turn it over so the die is on the bottom and the card stock is on the top
5. Thin blue mat
6. White embossing plate
Run it through to get the embossed effect
You can also choose to just cut away the edge follow the same process described previously to get the die lined up properly and this time use the standard set up for cutting with a die.
Once the edge is either embossed or cut lay a mask down over the decorative portion making sure to keep the edge straight - once again using the grid paper to help with that.
Ink the daffodil image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and use the mask edge to keep the design even and stamp the image 2+ times across the art piece. (I use repositionable adhesive from TomBow it is removable and yet holds the mask in place)
Take away the mask and color the image. I used Daffodil Delight for the flowers and Mango Melody for the edges of the flowers. The leaves and stems are Old Olive with Mossy Meadow highlights.
Cut a 3/8" wide strip of Mango Melody card stock and attach at the seam between the daffodils and the embossed or cut out portion.
Add three dots from the Glitter Enamel Dots collection.
