L ovely as a tree sympathy card
Project Recipe
Sympathy cards are not one of my favorite cards to make. In fact, I rarely will include them in my stamp-a-stacks but every now and then I do find that I need to send one. Generally, most of my designs or cutesy and colorful but that wouldn't be fitting for this type of project. Luckily, Lovely As A Tree is still available in our catalog. This has to be one of the longest running stamp sets -I know I've had it for over 14 years and I see why. From holiday cards to Father's Day cards to Sympathy cards- this set is great for all occasions. Here's a design I came up with for a subtle sympathy card.
The base of the card is our thick Whisper White cardstock (sooo glad this is available now!). It's matted with Night of Navy and then I stamped Lovely as a Tree onto our Whisper White cardstock (the regular weight) in Basic Black.
Using the Works of Art stamp set (another GREAT versatile set!) I stamped the top "swoosh" in Marina Mist and then underneath in Pool Party and matted this onto the Night of Navy CS
Using a scrap of Night of Navy (I save all my scraps! They come in handy for banners!) and using our Triple Punch Banner, I made a short banner, added a gemstone and stamped the sentiment in Basic Black
This was a very quick but beautiful card that you can make should you have the unfortunate need to make one. But it's one that the recipient will be sure to treasure.
Thanks for stopping by!
