Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Early Espresso Cardstock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
Pick out the large, oval aspen tree trunks die from the Aspen Tree Dies. Put it on top of the Very Vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered inside the rectangle. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick as needed to remove the pieces.
Note: You are using the large rectangle with the cut out in the center for this project. Throw away all the little bits and pieces.
Place the aspen tree oval cut out rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Mount the long shadow image from the Wildlife Wonder Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the aspen trees oval vanilla rectangle so it goes off the bottom and right edges of the cardstock. Re-ink and stamp again if needed to fill in any vanilla spaces.
Use the Early Espresso watercolor pencil to add some bark stripes to the tree trunks and branches as desired.
Use Stampin' Seal and Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the colored and stamped aspen trees oval rectangle to the top of the Pool Party rectangle. All the edges should be even.
Pick out the large, solid leaf die from the Aspen Tree Dies. Put it on top of the Crushed Curry rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick as needed to remove the pieces.
Adhere the leaf cut out to the upper left side of the aspen trees oval rectangle as shown.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Pool Party strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "to a great guy," "for all the great things you do," or "a note of thanks" sentiment from the Wildlife Wonder Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the punched Pool Party strip near the notch with the notch on the right side.
Cut a 6" piece of the Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the sentiment stamped Pool Party strip so it is just to the left of the stamped sentiment and tie in place with a knot. Trim the ends.
Adhere the punched sentiment strip with ribbon tired around it to the layered aspen trees oval/Pool Party rectangle so it is centered across the leaf cut out as shown. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess cardstock along the left edge.
Adhere the aspen trees oval/Pool Party rectangle with sentiment strip attached to the front of the Early Espresso card.
Mount the bear image from the Wildlife Wonder Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the bear image by hand.
If desired, use the sharp edge of one of the Paper Snips Scissors blades to rough up the edges of the cut out bear.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bear cut out to the front of the card so his paws overlap the shadow a bit a shown.
