Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Calypso Coral Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
- 5-1/2" square from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 4-3/4" square of brushstroke pink design from Softly Stippled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3" x 4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 2" x 4" from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
Mount the "you're simply marvelous" sentiment from the Perennial Postage Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" Flirty Flamingo rectangle as close to the edges as possible.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a circle that is 5" diameter from the Deckled Circles Dies. Put it on top of the large Granny Apple Green square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Garden Green Ink Pad to get it inky. Use the inky Blending Brush to make lines radiating in from the edges of the circle to the center. Let some of the lines be darker and wider than others. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a circle that is 4-1/4" diameter from the Deckled Circles Dies. Put it on top of the brushstroke Calypso Coral Softly Stippled Designer Paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the designer paper circle cut out to the center of the striped Granny Apple Green circle cut out.
Adhere the layered circle cut outs to the lower right corner of the stamped Flirty Flamingo rectangle as close to the bottom right edge of the sentiment as possible. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess cardstock/designer paper on the right and bottom edges.
Tip: Work on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet so things don't stick to your work surface.
Adhere the stamped and layered Flirty Flamingo rectangle to the front of the Calypso Coral card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Watercolor Melon Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the leaf image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on the designer paper partial circle on the card front so the tip is pointing up and is about 1/4" from the top of the designer paper circle and the right edge is about 1" from the right edge of the designer paper.
Mount the full watermelon image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom edge of the vertical Granny Apple Green rectangle.
Unlock the Modern Oval Punch. Slide the stamped watermelon into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the punched out watermelon to the front of the card so it is about 1/2" from the bottom and 1/2" from the left edge of the green partial circle cut out as shown.
Mount the smaller, more curved watermelon rind image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it somewhere on the remainder of the Granny Apple Green rectangle leaving room to stamp another rind and cut them both out.
Mount the longer, flatter watermelon rind image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it somewhere on the remainder of the Granny Apple Green rectangle leaving room to cut both rinds out.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out both rinds by hand. Leave space at the top of each rind to adhere the watermelon flesh pieces to in later steps.
Mount the smaller, more curved watermelon flesh image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp it somewhere on the Flirty Flamingo rectangle leaving room to stamp another watermelon flesh piece and cut them both out.
Mount the triangle of watermelon flesh with a bite taken out of it image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp it somewhere on the Flirty Flamingo rectangle leaving room to cut out both watermelon flesh pieces.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out both watermelon flesh pieces by hand.
Mount the set of three small seeds image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the triangular watermelon flesh piece in the lower right corner.
Mount the single small seed image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the triangular watermelon flesh piece near the top. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it three times in various positions on the curved watermelon flesh piece. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Adhere the watermelon flesh pieces to the appropriate rind pieces.
Adhere the triangular watermelon slice to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle so it is in the lower right corner and overlaps the bottom right side of the leaf a bit.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the curved watermelon slice to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle so it overlaps the bottom right side of the full watermelon punch out and the bottom left side of the triangular watermelon slice.
Cut a 12" piece of the Flirty Flamingo twine from the Baker's Twine Three Color Pack.
Fold the twine in half. Tie a small bow in the center of the folded twine. Trim the ends.
Use a squished up Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow to the front of the card as shown just below the stamped sentiment.
