A beautiful watercolour stamping technique. So easy and loads of fun.
Project Recipe
A very quick explanation of how to create this watercolour effect. You MUST use watercolour paper. Stampin' Up! do an excellent quality card. Check out listed supplies below.
Using a Stampin' Spritzer, you liberally spray the watercolour card with water, then stamp your image immediately on to this whilst its still very wet. I started with the solid butterfly stamp and So Saffron inkpad. It will run and bleed. This is the intention. You can use kitchen towel paper to mop up an colour that has run into areas that you didn't wish it to. Do this as you go along, before it dries. A quick blast with the Heat Tool dried it off enough to work on the second layer. Again, mist the card with water, although not as much this time, and repeat the process. this time I used Watermelon Wonder inkpad and the outline butterfly stamp. Repeat process again, with less water and same stamp to give a more defined image. The same with the centre detailed stamp. The black areas I stamped straight on to the card without any soaking. the already 'dampish' card blurs the image slightly anyway. If you are going to stamp your sentiment directly on to the card, make sure the card is completely dry otherwise the stamp will blur. I made this mistake hence having to stamp a separate sentiment for the piece.
