Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 3-3/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- scrap of cardstock at least 3-1/4" x 4-1/4"
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
- 1-3/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
To help with mounting the open door and frame image from the Warm Welcome Set, first pick out the open, large, open door and frame die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the large scrap of cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Keep the large scrap of cardstock with an open door shape cut out of the center. Keep the piece cut out of the center to use on another project or recycle it. Leave the die out.
Place the scrap of cardstock with the open door cut out of the center on your work surface. Carefully remove the open door and door frame image from the Warm Welcome Set. Place it stamping side down into the cut out in the center of the scrap so the stamping lines line up inside the cut out, Carefully press Clear Block D down onto the stamp to mount it.
Tip: Keep the scrap of cardstock with the center cut out of it in the case with your stamp set or dies so you can use it again on future projects.
As you are ready to stamp using the Warm Welcome Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Ink up the open door and frame image mounted on Block D using the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" Crumb Cake rectangle.
Put the open, large, open door and frame die on top of the stamped open door and frame image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Pick out the circle shape with a tiny hole at the bottom die from the Give It A Whirl Dies. Put it on top of the die cut open door and frame on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the small hole is at the top of the die and the die is centered side to side in the bottom of the open doorway about 1/4" from the bottom. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Pick out the large, scalloped edge circle with a tiny hole in the center die from the Give It A Whirl Dies. Put it on top of the large Very Vanilla square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Insert the Soft Suede rectangle into the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Work on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the open door and frame cut out with the circle cut out of it and the large, scalloped edge circle cut out on top of the vertical dry embossed Soft Suede rectangle so the open door cut out is centered side to side on the Soft Suede rectangle and is about 3/4" from the top and the small holes in the door frame cut out and scalloped edge circle cut out line up. The scalloped edge circle cut out should stick out a bit along the right side of the dry embossed Soft Suede rectangle. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to poke a hole through the Soft Suede rectangle through the tiny lined up holes.
Place the dry embossed Soft Suede rectangle with the hole poked through it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. WITHOUT ADHERING, place the open door frame cut out on the Soft Suede rectangle in the same place as before so the tiny holes line up. Put the circle shape with a tiny hole at the bottom die on top of the pieces on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the tiny holes line up and the die fits into the circle cut into the door frame cut out. Run through the machine.
Note: You should now have a circle cut through the door frame cut out and through the dry embossed Soft Suede rectangle and the holes should all line up.
Adhere the door frame cut out in place on top of the dry embossed Soft Suede rectangle so all the holes line up.
Work on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the layered Soft Suede/door rectangle on the vanilla scalloped circle cut out so the holes in the centers line up and a bit of the edge of the scalloped circle shows on the right side of the Soft Suede/door rectangle.
Mount the "Yay!" sentiment from the Warm Welcome Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it onto the vanilla circle through the circle shaped cut out in the Soft Suede/door rectangle so it is centered in the circle cut out.
Rotate the vanilla scalloped circle die under the Soft Suede/door rectangle so a clean area shows through the circle shaped cut out. Make sure the holes in both pieces still line up.
Mount the "Hello" sentiment from the Warm Welcome Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad.
Mount the "it's your day" sentiment from the Warm Welcome Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it onto the vanilla circle through the circle shaped cut out in the Soft Suede/door rectangle so it is centered in the circle cut out.
Pick out a small, black or white, circle or square brad from the Round & Square Brads.
Lay the Soft Suede/door rectangle on top of the stamped vanilla scalloped circle cut out so the holes line up. Insert the prongs of the brad through the holes and flatten them on the back side of the rectangle/circle cut outs.
Put Stampin' Dimensionals and/or Mini Stampin' Dimensionals all over the back of the Soft Suede/door rectangle making sure that none are too close to the scalloped circle cut out. Remove the protective backings and adhere the layered rectangle/circle cut outs to the front of the Garden Green card in the center so the top and bottom edges are all even. Give the spinner wheel a turn to make sure it spins smoothly.
Mount the hand holding a bouquet image from the Warm Welcome Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small vanilla square.
Pick out the matching hand holding a bouquet die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: I prefer to cut before coloring so that if the die slips I haven't wasted time coloring the image.
Use the Stampin' Write Markers to color in the hand holding a bouquet cut out:
- use the Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker to color in the leaves and lightly outline all the stems
- use the Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker to color in the flowers and every other stripe on the sleeve
- use the Cajun Craze Stampin' Write Marker to color in the other stripes on the sleeve
- use the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to very lightly color in the hand
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored hand with bouquet cut out to the front of the card so the cut out covers the top of the brad holding the spinner in place. Make sure NO adhesive gets onto the brad or onto the spinner through the circle cut out or your spinner won't spin.
Mount the "welcome" sentiment from the Warm Welcome Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Cajun Craze rectangle.
Pick out the smallest, open rectangle die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Adhere the welcome mat cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the bottom of the open door and overlaps the bottom a bit as shown.
Mount the cat image from the Warm Welcome Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small Crumb Cake rectangle.
Pick out the matching cat die from the Warm Welcome Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
If desired, use the Cajun Craze Stampin' Write Marker and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to add spots of color to the cat cut out turning it into a calico cat.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cat cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the upper left side of the welcome mat cut out a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one swirl from the sheet of Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls making sure you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it over the door knob on the stamped door on the front of the card.
