F un Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and specialty paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" of green, gray, and white stripes design from A Walk In The Forest 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal on the horizontal strip
- 2-1/4" x 7-1/2" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Glow-In-The-Dark 6" x 6" Specialty Paper
- 1/2" x 3-3/4" from Glow-In-The-Dark 6" x 6" Specialty Paper
- scraps of Pretty Peacock Cardstock for punching out extra bits
As you are ready to stamp using the Tricks & Treats Set, place the cardstock or specialty paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Glow-In-The-Dark paper strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat on the other end.
Mount the "EEK!" sentiment from the Tricks & Treats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Glow-In-The-Dark strip so it is close to the left edge. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it in the center of the Glow-In-The-Dark strip so it is close to the right edge. Set aside to allow to dry.
Pick out the open monster head die from the Tricks & Treats Dies. Put it on top of the large Glow-In-The-Dark rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the detailed monster face image from the Tricks & Treats Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Glow-In-The-Dark monster face cut out. Set aside to allow to dry.
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Punch out 1 hexagon from the Pretty Peacock rectangle, 3 hexagons from the Garden Green strip, and 3 hexagons from the A Walk In The Forest Designer Paper. Make sure the lines are horizontal on the horizontal hexagons of designer paper. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the set of 3 bats image from the Tricks & Treats Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over all three Garden Green hexagon punch outs. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp a bit each time, but make sure the bats are mostly upright. Let some of the images go off the edges of the punch outs.
Lay the Soft Sea Foam rectangle on the Silicone Craft Sheet so it is horizontal.
Note: By working on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet, your project won't stick to your work surface as you adhere all the bits and pieces in place.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the Pretty Peacock hexagon punch out in the center of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle. Then, arrange the 3 designer paper hexagon punch outs and the 3 bat-stamped Garden Green hexagon punch outs around it as shown leaving a small amount of Soft Sea Foam showing around each of them.
When happy with the arrangement, adhere the hexagon punch outs in place one at a time using Stampin' Seal.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess cardstock and designer paper on all 4 edges of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle.
Use the open Heartfelt Hexagon Punch to punch out bits of Pretty Peacock scrap cardstock to fill in any spaces on the four corners of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle.
While still working on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet, use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the hexagon punch bits to the four corners of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle filling in any gaps.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess Pretty Peacock cardstock along the edges of the Soft Sea Foam rectangle.
Adhere the Soft Sea Foam rectangle with all punched bits attached to the front of the Garden Green card.
Adhere the punched and stamped sentiment strip across the center of the Pretty Peacock hexagon in the center of the card front.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the monster face cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the Pretty Peacock hexagon and the sentiment strip.
