F un Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-5/8" x 4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" of closely packed pine trees in different shades of green on white background design from Boughs Of Holly 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the trees are vertical on the vertical strip
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Trees For Sale Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the small, solid tree image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle as close to the right edge as possible and about 3/8" from the bottom.
Mount the large, solid tree image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle so the right edge just overlaps the left edge of the small tree a bit and the bottoms of the trees are fairly even.
Mount the medium, solid tree image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle so the right edge just overlaps the left edge of the large tree a bit and the bottoms of the trees are fairly even.
Mount the small, detailed tree image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped solid, small tree image.
Mount the large, detailed tree image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped solid, large tree image.
Mount the medium, detailed tree image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped solid, medium tree image.
Mount the string of lights image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it across the upper right corner of the stamped white rectangle three times as shown. Remember to re-ink the stamp before stamping each time and move the stamp over a bit so the bulbs are in a different area.
Use the brush tip of the Real Red, Soft Succulent, and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers to color in the light bulbs.
Use your fingers to tear one long edge off the 1-1/4" x 4" white strip.
Adhere the torn strip of white to the bottom of the stamped and colored white rectangle so it looks like snow just covering the bottoms of the trees. Don't worry that it doesn't go all the way across the bottom of the rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess.
Adhere the strip of Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper to the center of the 1-5/8" x 4" Soft Succulent strip. The top and bottom edges will be even.
Cut a 2-3/4" piece of the Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon.
Lay the knotted ribbon across the top of the matted designer paper piece about 1" from the top so the knot is slightly closer to the left edge. Make sure the trees are right side up! Flip the matted designer paper over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Secure the ends of the ribbon in place with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the matted designer paper as needed. Adhere to the left side of the stamped and colored white rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the left edge. The top and bottom edges should be even. Make sure the trees are right side up and that you cover the left edge of the torn white strip.
Adhere the white layer to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
Mount the "so very merry" sentiment from the Trees For Sale Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1" x 3-1/4" Soft Succulent strip.
Pick out the smaller, pointy-end label die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the right side of the ribbon on the card front just to the right of the knot.
Mount the "trees for sale" sign image from the Trees For Sale Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small white rectangle.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sign by hand.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out sign to the card front at a slight angle on the right side so the bottom of the sign is stuck under the edge of the torn white layer.
