S imple masking watercolour card
Project Recipe
Stamp a hibiscus on a post it note along the adhesive edge. Fussy cut the flower out.
Stamp hibiscus flower in corner to highlight as much flower as possible in cherry cobbler ink. Use post it note over the hibiscus and stamp a flower above and below the mask.
Placing and aligning the masked flower on each stamped image, stamp leaves with old olive ink.
On the middle flower, using water colour pencils in cherry cobbler, real red and flirty flamingo to blend and highlight the petals of the flower. Do the same on the other flowers, however use a variety of lighter tones, crushed curry, calipso coral, melon mambo, pumpkin pie.
Using granny Apple green and old olive to shade and blend the leaves. Once colouring is complete use an aqua pen (filled with fabulon ironing starch) and work from the lighter to darker colours.
Stamp sentiment in soft suede on crushed curry cardstock and punch out with the timeless label punch. Using the everyday label punch shape out in granny Apple green. Run the granny Apple green shape through coastal weave emboss folder.
Cut a 8cm length of braided burlap trim on diagonal at each end. Fold on itself, using tombo glue, adhere to the back of the green label. Apply tombo to the crushed curry label and adhere to the granny Apple green label.
Add 4 x dimensionals to the back of the granny Apple green label and attached to the hibiscus card. I chose to make the card portrait - so aligned the sentiment at the bottom right corner. Mount the card front to granny Apple green card base.
