G roovy Valentine's Day card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut card stock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Flirty Flamingo Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Rose Red Card Stock
- 3-1/4" x 5" from Whisper White Card Stock
- 1" x 5" from Flirty Flamingo Card Stock
- 2-3/4" square from Flirty Flamingo Card Stock
- 2-1/4" square from Whisper White Card Stock
- 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Rose Red Card Stock
- scrap of Rose Red Card Stock at least 3/4" x 2-1/2"
Mount one of the large tie dye block images on Block E. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the larger Whisper White rectangle.
Mount the other large tie dye block image on Block E. Ink it up with the Rose Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previously stamped image. You may need to rotate the block 90 degrees to get the images to line up for the best coverage. Since these are photopolymer stamps, it is easy to see what the image will look like when you stamp it.
Place the long strip of Flirty Flamingo Card Stock on the Precision Base Plate on the Big Shot Platform. Place the long skinny chain of hearts Love Notes Framelit on top of the card stock. Place one Cutting Pad on top and run it through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the card stock from the die if needed.
Put a line of SNAIL Adhesive down the back of the right side of your stamped Whisper White layer. Slide the right edge of the white layer under the left edge of the cut out hearts in the chain. Use Paper Snips to trim off the excess card stock at the top and bottom of the chain.
Adhere the white layer with heart chain on the side to the large Rose Red layer. Then, adhere the Rose Red layer to the front of the Flirty Flamingo card.
Place the Flirty Flamingo Card Stock square on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Big Shot Platform. Place the swirly heart image from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits on top. Place the two remaining pieces of Rose Red Card Stock on top of the Precision Base Plate on top of the Big Shot Platform. Place the "love" image from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits on the bigger one and one of the arrows from the Love Notes Framelits on the smaller one. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the cut outs from the dies.
Place the heart cut out upside down on one side of a Silicone Craft Sheet. Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters and clamp the triangle edge of one quarter in a large binder clip. Squeeze a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on one corner of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Dab the sponge into the glue and then lightly onto the back of the heart cut out. Flip the heart cut out over and adhere it to the top center of the tie dye rectangle.
Use the same method of applying glue to the back of the love cut out. Flip it over and adhere it to the bottom center of the tie dyed rectangle at a slight angle.
Mount the more solid small heart image from the Tie Dyed Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Whisper White square.
Mount the less filled in small heart image from the Tie Dyed Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Rose Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previous heart image.
Choose the straight edged heart framelit from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits that cuts out a heart that is 1-3/4" x 1-7/8". Place the stamped card stock on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform. Center the heart framelit over the stamped heart. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run it through the Big Shot.
Place the cut out heart on the Precision Base Plate on the Big Shot Platform. Center the divided heart cut out from the Love Notes Framelits on top of the heart. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run it through the Big Shot. Be sure to keep all the pieces!
Use the sponge method to apply adhesive to the back of the thin outlined Whisper White heart you now have. Adhere it to the center of the swirly heart cut out.
Use the sponge method to apply adhesive to the back of the cut out arrow from earlier. Adhere it across the white heart cut out at an angle as shown.
Fold the divided heart cut out down the middle. Apply a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center line. Adhere it in the middle of the white heart cut out.
Fluff up all the layers with your fingers.
You can keep the sponge in the binder clip and use it again and again for applying glue. Let any excess glue on the Silicone Craft Sheet dry and then just rub it off.
