Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Always Artichoke Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Always Artichoke Cardstock
Rub the Embossing Buddy over the large vanilla rectangle.
Ink up the tree image from the Thoughts & Prayers Set with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the Very Vanilla rectangle.
Lay the stamped vanilla rectangle on top of the Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers all of the VersaMark stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Rub the Embossing Buddy over the Always Artichoke rectangle.
Ink up the top only of the "Thinking of You..." sentiment by carefully pressing the VersaMark Pad to only the words "thinking of you." Stamp in the center of the Always Artichoke rectangle.
Lay the sentiment stamped rectangle on top of the Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers all of the VersaMark stamped sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Tip: When heat embossing a small piece of cardstock, hold the cardstock with a clothespin to keep from burning your fingers.
Place the vanilla rectangle with heat embossed tree image on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Always Artichoke Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub it onto the tree image in circular motions. Get more ink on the dauber as needed. Keep adding ink until you have the color saturation you want. Concentrate the color around the tree image and make it lighter on the rest of the vanilla rectangle.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use a tissue or paper towel to buff off excess ink.
Color the heat embossed tree image with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark Old Olive Marker on the leaves.
Use the Dark Crumb Cake Marker on the trunk and branches.
Use the Bronze Marker on the trunk.
Adhere the heat embossed, sponged, and colored vanilla rectangle to the large Crumb Cake rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of Gold 1/4" Natural Trim.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock layers so the ribbon covers the bottom of the tree trunk . Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Always Artichoke card.
Place the heat embossed sentiment stamped Always Artichoke rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker fine tip to color over the heat embossed letters.
Pick out the oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out an oval that is 1-5/16" wide. Place the sentiment stamped Always Artichoke rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the oval framelit on top so the sentiment is centered side to side and closer to the top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the stitched oval framelit from the Stitched Shapes Framelits that cuts out a stitched oval that is 1-7/8" wide. Place the small Crumb Cake rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched oval framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the sentiment oval to the center of the Crumb Cake stitched oval.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted oval sentiment to the card front so it is centered over the ribbon on the right side.
Cut a 4" piece of Gold 1/4" Natural Trim.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front on the left side of the sentiment ovals and tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
Carefully peel up an Always Artichoke heart from a sheet of Regals Enamel Shapes making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the bottom center of the Always Artichoke sentiment oval.
