B y grandson Bryson loves Thomas so I used his birthday invitation as a guide to create this fun Thomas the Train card.
Project Recipe
On a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz stamp a background of Lovely As A Tree towards the top and some grass sprigs from Nuts About You towards the bottom. Adhere to card base.
Use a 2" x 4" piece of basic black as the base of the train. Next use a 2" x 1" piece of Pacific Point, use a framelit from the ovals collection to round the top edge. Adhere to the black base leaving a small strip of black showing at the top. Using a scissor round the black edge to match the Pacific Point so you have a small black roof edge. Use the Owl Builder Punch and punch 2 of the largest circle in Daffodil Delight and 2 of the medium circles in black. For the stove pipe, use a 1/2" x 1 1/4" strip of black. On a scrap of black use the largest circle on the Owl Punch to make a crescent, by punching and then using the hole to punch again. Adhere to the top of the stove pipe. Center the stovepipe and place the two Daffodil circles one on each side.
Adhere a 2 1/2" x 1" strip of Pacific Point under the roof piece.
Next take a 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" piece of Smoky Slate, round the top corners and adhere to the bottom of the black base.Cut a strip of Real Red 1/2" x 2 5/8" and adhere near the bottom of the Smoky Slate strip. Punch 2 large circles from the Owl Punch in black and adhere for the bumper guards.
Cut 2 Pacific Point pieces at 1" x 1/2" and layer on top of the Smoky Slate piece and up to the next Pacific Point strip. Cut two tiny (approx 1/4" ) squares and place just inside of the 1" x 1/2" Pacific Point pieces. Use the photo as a guide.
Now comes the artistic part! Punch a 1 3/4" circle of Smoky Slate.Using the Owl Punch make the eyes, largest circle for the white, medium for the black, and largest circle white for the crescent mouth. Next, place them on the Smoky Slate circle but don't adhere yet, mark where you want to place them, lightly, with a pencil. Now the artistic part, use a Smoky Slate Stampin' Write marker to draw in the nose, shade around the eyes and mouth. Adhere the eyes and mouth and make the eyebrows by cutting a corner tip of black. Use a dimensional to pop up the face on the train.
For the track cut a 1/2" x 2" piece of Smoky Slate diagonally. Place the large ends at the bottom of the card angling so they are wider at the bottom . Use small strips of Early Espresso as the railroad ties, under the rails. Adhere to card.
Using dimensionals adhere Thomas to the card base. Use a chalk marker to add highlights to the smoke stack, eyes, lights, and bumpers.
