Project Recipe
Cut card stock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Watermelon Wonder Card Stock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Peekaboo Peach Card Stock
- 3-1/4" square of Watermelon Wonder Card Stock
- 3-3/4" square of multi-colored streamers on dark blue design of paper from Carried Away Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Whisper White Thick Card Stock (if you don't have the thick card stock, you can use regular white card stock, the thick just holds up better to watercoloring)
Mount sentiment from the Tasty Trucks Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad and stamp in the lower right corner of the Peekaboo Peach rectangle.
Place the Peekaboo Peach rectangle into the Festive Textured Impressions Embossing Folder at a slight angle so the streamers will run at a downward angle from the right side to the left side. Make sure the lower right corner with the sentiment does not get embossed. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Make sure everything will fit through the Big Shot without catching on any edges. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the stamped and embossed Peekaboo Peach rectangle to the Watermelon Wonder card.
Pick out the Layered Squares Framelit that cuts out a scalloped square that is 2-3/4" square. Place the Watermelon Wonder square on the Cutting Pad on top of your Big Shot Platform on your Big Shot. Place the scalloped square Layered Squares Framelit on top. Place the other Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the smooth Layering Squares Framelit that cuts out a square that is 2-5/8" square. Place the designer paper on the Cutting Pad on top of your Big Shot Platform on your Big Shot. Place the smooth square framelit on top at an angle so the streamers will run at a downward angle from the left side to the right side.. Place the other Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the designer paper square to the scalloped square. Then adhere them to the front of the card so there is about 5/8" inch of the Peekaboo Peach layer showing on the top, left, and ride sides.
Mount the truck image from the Tasty Treats Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad and stamp it on the rectangle of Whisper White Thick card stock.
Mount the cupcake image from the Tasty Trucks Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad and stamp it 3 times in the serving window of the truck. Remember to re-ink each time. I find it easier to get them evenly spaced if I stamp the first one in the center and then stamp the other two to either side.
Squeeze the lid of the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Use a Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the puddle in the lid and color in the top stripe on the truck, the larger stripes on the window canopy, the reflectors and interior of the headlight, the bottom of the center cupcake, and the tops of the two side cupcakes. Pick up more ink from the pad lid as needed. Remember to stroke the tip of the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the card stock could start to pill and tear. Make some areas darker for a shading effect. When you are done coloring with the Peekaboo Peach color, scribble the tip of the Blender Pen back and forth on scratch paper until no more color is coming off.
Repeat Step 10 above using the Watermelon Wonder Ink Pad. Color in the bottom stripe of the truck, the rim around the headlight, the skinny stripes on the window canopy, the top of the center cupcake, and the bottoms of the two outer cupcakes. Clean the Blender Pen.
Repeat Step 10 using the Smoky Slate Ink Pad to color in the hubcaps, wheel wells, and window frames. Clean the Blender Pen.
Repeat Step 10 using the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad to color in the tires. Clean the Blender Pen.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add a little sparkle to the two front windows of the truck (not the serving window), the cupcake frosting, the headlight interior, the reflectors, and the hub caps.
Cut out the truck using Paper Snips. Adhere to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
