P retty Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, Foil Sheets, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 2-5/8" x 3-3/8" of large pattern of pine boughs, pinecones, and red berries on light green background design from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper
- 3" square from Real Red Cardstock
- 2-7/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 3/4" square from Silver Foil Sheets
- 5/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- scrap of Shaded Spruce Cardstock at least 2" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 2" wide
Pick out the long, skinny pine bough thinlit from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Build the following sandwich in this order on top of the Big Shot:
- Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter removed
- white Impressions Pad from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- thin dark blue silicone rubber mat from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- Old Olive rectangle placed horizontally
- pine bough thinlit with cutting side down so the top tip is pointing into the upper right corner of the cardstock as close to the corner as possible
- clear Standard Cutting Pad
Run the sandwich through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Tip: This sandwich will let the detailed thinlit dry emboss the cardstock instead of cutting it.
Pick out the other two pine bough thinlits from the Pretty Pines Thinlits. Build the following sandwich in this order on top of the Big Shot:
- Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter removed
- white Impressions Pad from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- thin dark blue silicone rubber mat from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- already dry embossed Old Olive rectangle
- both pine bough thinlits with cutting sides down so the top tips are pointing up on either side of the previously embossed pine bough with the bottom edges near the bottom of the previously embossed pine bough, make sure the thinlits do NOT overlap!
- clear Standard Cutting Pad
Run the sandwich through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Tip: This sandwich will let the detailed thinlit dry emboss the cardstock instead of cutting it.
Adhere the dry embossed Old Olive rectangle to the large Shaded Spruce rectangle and then to the front of the Old Olive card.
Adhere the piece of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper to the medium sized Shaded Spruce rectangle. Then, adhere it to the left side of the card front so it covers the ends of the dry embossed pine boughs on the Old Olive layer.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the large piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Real Red square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Real Red Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Real Red facing up).
Pick out the detailed hot air balloon thinlit from the Up & Away Thinlits. Place it on top of the Real Red Cardstock on the Big Shot so that the bottom of the balloon (just above the basket) on the thinlit is even with the side of the red square. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces. Keep the detailed hot air balloon thinlit out for use in a later step.
If necessary, use Paper Snips to even off the bottom of the balloon cut out.
Peel the protective backing off of the detailed hot air balloon cut out and adhere it to the center of the matted designer paper layer at a slight angle as a Christmas ornament. Make sure the bottom of the balloon image is at the top with the curved balloon hanging down so it looks like a Christmas ornament. Leave room at the top for the "hanger" portion of the ornament to be applied and the ribbon.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the small piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to the white side of the Silver Foil Sheet square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Silver Foil Sheet on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (shiny silver facing up).
Place the detailed hot air balloon thinlit on top of the Silver Foil Sheet on the Big Shot so that the basket portion of the balloon on the thinlit is on the Silver Foil square. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
If needed, use Paper Snips to even off the basket cut out.
Peel the protective backing off of the basket cut out and adhere it to the top of the Christmas ornament so it overlaps the top of the ornament a bit.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Real Red 3/8" Mixed Satin Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon piece. Trim the ends at angles.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the ornament.
Mount the "some Christmas cheer for you" sentiment from the Takeout Treats Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the scrap of white cardstock.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Slide the scrap of Shaded Spruce Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the Shaded Spruce circle.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment circles to the card front so they overlap the lower right side of the matted designer paper just a bit.
