A n easy mini gift bag made from two pieces of 6" x 6" paper
Project Recipe
Gather your supplies:
Paper:
-(2) 6" x 6" pieces of DSP
-scraps of Basic White, Real Red, Highland Heather
Inks: Blushing Bride, Real Red
Tools: Trimmer, Snips, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Bone Folder, Blending Brushes, Clear Block B
Adhesives: Tear & Tape, Multipurpose Glue, Glue Dots, and Dimensionals
Embellishments: Iridescent Rhinestones and Real Red 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon
Score both pieces of 6" x 6" DSP as follows: score at 1", rotate a quarter turn, score at 1 1/2", rotate a quarter turn, score at 1 1/2", rotate a quarter turn, score at 1 1/2" (see picture). The one-inch score will be folded down and viewable on the outside of the bag. If you are using a paper with a directional pattern, make sure you score with that pattern facing the right way out. The 'top' of the pattern will be closest to the 1-inch score line, the 'bottom' of the pattern will be at the edge of the paper.
Burnish score lines on the first piece of DSP. Fold and burnish the 1-inch score in the direction you want your pattern to be shown and the other 1 1/2" score marks in the other direction. On this first piece, cut off the bottom squares on the left and right (as shown in the picture).
Burnish score lines on the second piece of DSP in the same manner. Cut up lines to the first 1 1/2" score mark (as shown in the picture).
Place a strip of Tear & Tape on the under part of the 1 inch flap (as shown).
Peel adhesive backing and press flaps securely down. I like to do this before assembling the bag (one less thing to wiggle around). Do this on both 6" x 6" pieces. At this point, you can line up both pieces and use a hole punch along the top for your ribbon holes.
Using liquid glue, adhere the bottom of the bag pieces together. I placed the 'cut out' piece on top of the 'complete' piece (see picture)
Fold up the bottom left and right flaps. Apply glue to the underside of the flaps and onto the inner side of the other piece. Secure flaps to the bag's base and then 'wrap' the sides around the other sides.
Decorate as desired. I used two 9-inch pieces of Real Red ribbon as handles. I cropped a piece of Basic White with the tag die from the set. I then used Blushing Bride ink and a blending brush to softly color (you can also use a piece of Blushing Bride card stock instead). I stamped the sentiment in Real Red. I cropped some hearts and a banner with scraps of Real Red and Highland Heather using dies from the set. I assembled using glue dots and Dimensionals and finished with some rhinestones.
