Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Tahitian Tide Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" x 4-1/2" of Tahitian Tide lines on one side/floral on other side pattern from 2022-2024 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment, cut so the lines are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Parakeet Party Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the large white rectangle into the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder so the lines run horizontally across the vertical rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Tahitian Tide card.
Figure out which side of the 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper you want to use (the stripes or the floral).
Pick out the open, frame with bumpy ends die from the Fabulous Frames Dies. Put it on top of the designer paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the side of the designer paper you want to have showing is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Note: You are using the frame portion for this project. Keep the large rectangle cut out of the center for use on another project.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the frame cut out to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and slightly closer to the top.
Tip: Use the lines dry embossed on the white rectangle on the card front to help you line things up straight.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Songbirds Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the nest image from the Sweet Songbirds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the nest by hand.
Adhere the cut out nest to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower left side of the frame cut out.
Mount the large bird looking to the right image from the Sweet Songbirds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tahitian Tide Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" white strip, leaving room to punch it out.
Mount the large wing image from the Sweet Songbirds Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tahitian Tide Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom end of the vertical 1" x 3-1/4" white strip, leaving room to punch it out. Make sure the pointed end is pointing up.
Unlock the Songbird Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped bird image into the punch and get it centered in the bird punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Hold the unlocked Songbird Builder Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped wing image into the punch and get it centered in the large wing punching area. Punch.
Mount the set of two small circles image from the Sweet Songbirds Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bird punch out at a very slight angle just above and centered over the beak to make the eyes.
Use the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker to color in the bird's beak.
Adhere the stamped and colored bird punch out to the front of the card so he is tucked into the top of the cut out nest as shown.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the wing punch out to the front of the card on top of the bird punch out as shown.
Unlock the Bough Punch. Slide one end of the horizontal Parakeet Party strip into the punch and punch.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the punched out leafs to the card front as shown so the ends of the stems tuck under the nest and bird.
Mount the "al little bird told me...," "a little note of thanks," or "welcome" sentiment from the Sweet Songbirds Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Tahitian Tide Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1" x 2-1/2" white rectangle.
Pick out the open, small, rounded end label frame die from the Fabulous Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Adhere the sentiment label cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the right side of the top of the designer paper frame cut out a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 small Tahitian Tide dots from the sheet of 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the ends of the sentiment label cut out covering the holes.
Cut an 18" piece of the Parakeet Party twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Fold the twine in half. Tie a small bow in the center of the folded twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown on the bottom left side of the cut out nest.
