P retty Christmas cards using Stampin' Up! products, heat embossing, and emboss resist.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- scrap of Bermuda Bay Cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
Mount the swirls image from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block E. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the large white rectangle so the smallest swirl end is about 1" in from the left side and about 1/4" from the top.
Lay the stamped cardstock on top of the Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers all of the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Coastal Cabana Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, rub the inky dauber over the heat embossed swirls. Get more ink on the dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Wipe off excess ink on the embossed surfaces using a clean tissue or paper towel.
Mount the grouping of three little snowflakes image from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly around the embossed swirls multiple times. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the stamp every so often.
Wipe off excess ink on the embossed surfaces using a clean tissue or paper towel.
Adhere the white rectangle to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
Mount the "Peace" sentiment from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the middle of the scrap of white cardstock.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Slide the scrap of Bermuda Bay Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the white sentiment circle to the center of the Bermuda Bay circle.
Pick out an Iridescent Boxwood Wreaths Embellishment and uncoil it so it still creates a swirl.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere one end of the uncoiled wreath to the back of the sentiment circles. Make sure the uncoiled wreath swirl will stick out on the left side of the circles when the circles are face up.
Adhere the circles and uncoiled wreath swirl to the bottom right of the swirls so they cover the two trailing ends.
Place the Coastal Cabana strip on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Blizzard Thinlit on top so you'll cut out one 1" snowflake and two tinier snowflakes. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the two tiny snowflakes to the swirls on the card front.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the 1" snowflake to the upper right side of the sentiment circles.
Use the tiny spatula end of the Take Your Pick tool to pick up one small frosted droplet from a sheet of Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets at a time and adhere them to the center of the tiny snowflakes.
