Q uick and easy Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" of white flowers in rows on dark red background design from Dashing Along Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
Place the large Mossy Meadow rectangle into the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the piece of Dashing Along Designer Paper to the bottom of the dry embossed Mossy Meadow rectangle.
Tip: The Dashing Along Designer Series Paper will ONLY be available for FREE to hosts of qualifying shows (at least $250 in sales) during September 2018. Book your show now so you can earn this pretty paper for FREE!
Cut a 5" piece of 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim.
Fold the burlap trim in half horizontally so the fold is on the bottom of the trim. Cut at a sharp angle towards the fold.
Tip: This should give you a notch in one end of the trim.
Lay the burlap trim on top of the cardstock/designer paper layer so the notch is on the left side and almost touches the left side of the cardstock/designer paper and is centered over the seam between the two layers. Flip the layers over and fold the right end of the burlap trim over. Adhere the end of the burlap trim in place with a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strip and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the seam between the designer paper and cardstock on the front of the card. Remove the protective backing and press the burlap trim in place over the Tear & Tape.
Roll a Sponge Brayer across the open Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, roll the inky brayer onto the rubber side of the poinsettia stamp until it is completely covered in ink. Get more ink on the brayer as needed. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it on the vanilla rectangle.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Brayers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Cut out the poinsettia image by hand using Paper Snips.
If desired, get some more Cherry Cobbler Ink on the Sponge Brayer and rub it across the cut edges of the flower. This will help cover any bare spots showing from cutting the flower out and will also add more depth to the image.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals in the center of the back of the cut out flower to adhere the poinsettia to the card front at a slight angle so it is centered over the burlap trim on the right side.
Mount the "Peace" sentiment from the Stylish Christmas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Mossy Meadow rectangle.
Pick out the long, single, open banner framelit from the Bunch of Banners Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the banner framelit on top so the sentiment is on the left side of the banner. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Poke out the banner with the sentiment and keep it. Also use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke out the outline banner that is probably stuck inside the framelit, remove it, and throw it away. If you don't remove it, then you will have trouble cutting with this framelit the next time you use it.
Adhere the sentiment banner to the card front so it is centered on top of the burlap trim and sticks out from the left side of the flower.
Tip: If needed, cut some of the sentiment banner off on the right side using Paper Snips so you can tuck it under the flower.
Carefully peel up a medium gem from a sheet of Gold Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the poinsettia flower.
