I created this card as an example for my Thursday Technique Class.
Project Recipe
11" x 4-1/4" Merry Merlot scored at 5-1/2"
4-1/8" x 5-3/8" Basic White
4-1/8" x 1-1/2" Basic White or scrap
4" x 4" Petal Pink
1-3/8" x 4" Pool Party and 4-1/8" x 1/2"
4-3/4" x 10" Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
Pool Party Ribbon
Make sure the print design on the DSP is upright before marking and cutting.
Make a small mark on the 4-3/4" end at 3/4" from the top.
Next make a 3/4" mark on the other 4-3/4" end from the bottom.
Using the Stampin' Up® Paper trimmer, line the marks up along the cutting track, and cut the paper on the diagonal.
Using the Stampin Up® Simply Scored Scoring board (retired), or you can use the SU Paper Trimmer.
Starting on the long end score at 2", 3" 5", 6", 8" and 9".
Starting on the 2" end (this should also be the side you want to see on the card). make a valley fold, on the scored line make a mountain fold. Go back and forth in accordion folds.
Flip the DSP over to the back and add a piece of tear n tape along the top. This will help the folds stay together. You could use Stampin' Seal+.
Add the 3-3/8" x 4-1/8" Pool Party cardstock to the top of the basic white leaving 1/8" along the top and the sides.
Adhere the drapery fold to the basic white cardstock leaving 1/8" along both sides and the bottom. It should overlap Pool Party cardstock slightly.
Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink stamp the birds on the branch onto Basic White cardstock. After it dries fussy cut the image.
For all of these instructions I used Stampin' Blends.
Lt Soft Suede and Lt Crumb Cake to color the branch.
Lt Basic Black to color parts of their wings.
Dk So Saffron to color the birds.
Lt Old Olive to color the leaves.
Lt Polished Pink to color the flowers.
I then used Lt Pool Party to color in white areas around the image.
Adhere the image to the Pool Party cardstock.
Stamp a greeting on the Petal Pink cardstock toward the bottom.
Since the only Pool Party ribbon I have is the 3/8" Pool Party Sheer ribbon, I cut a 1/4" x 4" Pool Party cardstock and adhered it where I was putting the ribbon to cover the transition from the Pool Party cardstock and the DSP drapery.
Adhere the layers to the Merry Merlot card base.
I finished off the card with Genial Gems and Blue Adhesive-backed Gems.
