Q uick and easy Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3" square of vanilla moon and black tree on orange background from Spooky Night Designer Series Paper
- scrap of Crushed Curry Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
- scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
Place the Basic Black rectangle into the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to paint some shimmer onto the raised stars on the black rectangle. Place the square of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper in place without adhering it to get an idea of which stars don't need to be painted since they will be hidden by the designer paper square.
Adhere the dry embossed and shimmered black rectangle to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Place the square of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. This will help you get a cleaner, sharper stamped image.
Mount the owl image from the Spooky Cat Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp it onto the designer paper so it looks like it is sitting on the branch on the left side of the moon. Set it aside to let it dry.
Tip: If you still have some unstamped areas, use the Basic Black Marker to color them in.
Mount the "happy owl oween" sentiment with owl eyes over it on Block C. Ink up only the sentiment portion by carefully pressing the stamp to the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the scrap of vanilla cardstock.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch. Carefully line up the sentiment so it is centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use the 1-1/4" Circle Punch to punch a circle from the scrap of Crushed Curry Cardstock.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle to the center of the Crushed Curry circle.
If the owl image on the designer paper is dry, then use the Crushed Curry Marker to color in the eyes, beaks, and feet of the owl and the rest of the moon.
Adhere the stamped and colored designer paper square to the front of the card.
Adhere the matted sentiment circles to the card front so they overlap the lower right corner of the designer paper square.
