S pooktacular Halloween treat box using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" of monsters, haunted houses, and spooky trees on vanilla background design from Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, cut so the images are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Garden Green Cardstock
Fold a Coffin Treat Box base and lid along all score lines using the Bone Folder.
Use pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the box together. Set aside.
Use pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the lid together.
Place the piece of Monster Bash Designer Paper upside down on your work surface (in this case, the monsters, haunted houses, and spooky trees design face down).
Place the lid upside down in the middle of the piece of designer paper. Trace around the outside edges using a pencil.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the traced area just inside the pencil lines.
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the cut out paper right side up (in this case, the monsters, haunted houses, and spooky trees design face up) to the top of the lid. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess designer paper along the edges.
Mount the "Have a Spooktacular Halloween" sentiment from the Spooktacular Bash Set on Block C. Ink up the bottom half of the words by pressing the stamp to the edge of the open Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Do NOT stamp yet.
Press the bottom 1/4" of the inky stamp to the edge of the open Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Do NOT stamp yet.
Press the top third of the inky stamp to the edge of the open Crushed Curry Ink Pad.
Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp in the center of the vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the stitched, tombstone shaped die from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment cut out to the top of the coffin lid near the bottom. Make sure that the words and the images on the designer paper are all right side up.
Use Paper Snips to fringe one long edge of the strip of Garden Green Cardstock. Make sure NOT to cut all the way through. Trim the top of the fringed edge in gentle curves so it is only about 1/2" tall.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the fringed Garden Green strip to the front of the coffin lid so it covers the bottom of the sentiment cut out and sticks out to the side near the top of the coffin lid.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up a tombstone shape from a sheet of Monster Bash Enamel Shapes being sure to get the adhesive as well. Adhere it to the front of the lid just to the side of the sentiment cut out closest to the top of the lid and tucked behind the green fringe.
Cut a 3" piece of Basic Black 3/8" Scalloped Edge Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the lid in a bottom corner of the sentiment cut out.
