Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" of dictionary entries on tan background design from Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, cut so the words are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" square from Basic Black Cardstock
- 2" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Fold a Coffin Treat Box base and lid along all score lines using the Bone Folder.
Use pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the box together. Set aside.
Use pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the lid together.
Place the piece of Monster Bash Designer Paper upside down on your work surface (in this case, the dictionary entries design face down).
Place the lid upside down in the middle of the piece of designer paper. Trace around the outside edges using a pencil.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the traced area just inside the pencil lines.
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the cut out paper right side up (in this case, the dictionary entries design face up) to the top of the lid. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess designer paper along the edges.
Mount the framed mummy image from the Spooktacular Bash Set on Block B. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small vanilla square.
Pick out the matching square die with pointy corners from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put it on top of the stamped framed mummy image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
One at a time, squeeze the lids of the ink pads to get ink in the lids. If needed, add ink to the lids using Ink Refills. One at a time, use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lids and color in the framed mummy image. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Remember to scribble on Grid Paper in between colors until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Use the following colors:
Crushed Curry – for mummy's eyes
Pumpkin Pie - for canvas behind mummy
Leave the frame uncolored for now.
Lightly touch the tip of a Blender Pen to the side of the Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad. Use this to color in the frame around the mummy portrait. Get more ink on the Blender Pen as needed. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Remember to scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Pick out the square filigree frame die from the Ornate Frames Dies. Put the die on top of the Basic Black square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Adhere the colored framed mummy cut out to the center of the Basic Black filigree frame.
Use SNAIL to adhere the matted, colored, framed portrait of the mummy to the top of the coffin lid. Make sure that the words and the portrait are all right side up.
Cut a 3" piece of Basic Black 3/8" Scalloped Edge Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the lid in a bottom corner of the framed, matted mummy portrait.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up 1 large and 1 small Basic Gray dots and 1 small Basic Black dot from a sheet of Monster Bash Enamel Shapes being sure to get the adhesives as well. Adhere them to the front of the lid in the bottom corner of the bottom of the lid.
