P retty sympathy card for the loss of a pet. It could easily be changed to a regular sympathy card, goodbye card, get well card, thinking of you card, or belated birthday card by changing the small sentiment.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of vanilla filigree on yellow design from Monster Bash Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 4-1/2" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-1/4" x 3-9/16". Put the black rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Put the die on top of one short edge of the black rectangle at an angle so it will cut a notch in the end of the rectangle. Run through the tool.
Insert the notched black rectangle into the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine.
Adhere the notched and dry embossed black rectangle to the left side of the Monster Bash Designer Paper rectangle so it is about 3/8" from the left edge and the tips of the notch almost touch the bottom of the designer paper. If needed, cut off any excess cardstock along the top edge.
Adhere the designer paper with black banner attached to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Mount the "sorry" sentiment from the Sorry For Everything Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large vanilla rectangle slightly closer to the top edge.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-1/4" x 3-9/16". Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered side to side and close to the top edge. Run through the tool.
Adhere the sentiment cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the black banner slightly more than half way and is about 3/8" from the top.
Mount the smaller sentiment of choice from the Sorry For Everything Set on Block H. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the smaller vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 7/8" x 2-7/8". Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the smaller sentiment cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom right side of the larger sentiment cut out and sticks out to the right and bottom sides about 1/4".
Cut a 4" piece of each of the ribbons (Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Basic Black 3/8" Scalloped Edge Ribbon).
Lay the ribbons on top of each other. Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbons so the black ribbon is on top. Trim the ends at sharp angles so the yellow ribbon is a tiny bit longer than the black ribbon.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at an angle in the angle formed between the two sentiment cut outs on the left side.
