B elated birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Galvanized Metallic Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/2" of tiny white and light purple dots on dark purple background design from Country Lane Designer Series Paper
- 2 squares each 3-1/4" square from Galvanized Metallic Paper
- 4" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 4-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the grouping of tiny, scattered hearts, stars, and flowers image from the Birthday Backgrounds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all around the edges of the Rich Razzleberry rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the stamp a little each time and stamp so some of the images go off the edges. You don't need to stamp in the center of the rectangle as it will be covered eventually.
Adhere the stamped Rich Razzleberry rectangle to the front of the Blackberry Bliss card.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one end of the strip of Country Lane Designer Series Paper into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other end. Leave the punch unlocked.
Adhere the punched strip of designer paper to the front of the card at a slight angle across the center.
Pick out the square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-7/8" square. Place one of the Galvanized Metallic Paper squares on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other Galvanized Metallic Paper square. Leave the square framelit out for use in a later step.
Adhere the two Galvanized Metallic Paper squares to each other so they are slightly offset. Adhere them to the center of the card front.
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on the Stamparatus.
Place the large white rectangle on the Stamparatus base near the center with a long side running horizontally across the top. Use the lines on the Small Grid Paper to help line up the cardstock. Use the magnet to hold the cardstock in place. Pick out the "sorry" sentiment from the Sorry For Everything Set. Place it upside down on the white cardstock so it is centered side to side and fairly close to the top edge. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate and press down firmly. Open the plate. Clean the stamp off with the Simply Shammy.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have an Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Move the white cardstock up and to the left about 1/16" to 1/8" inch. Hold the cardstock in place with the magnet. Ink up the stamp using the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad, close the plate, and press firmly. Open the plate. Remove the cardstock. You should have the sentiment and a shadow image stamped on the cardstock.

Place the stamped white rectangle on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Blackberry Bliss Light Stampin' Blends to color in the spaces between the stamped words.
Place the stamped and colored sentiment on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the 2-7/8" square framelit on top so the word is near the top edge. You will cut off some of the "s" and the "y" on the ends. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the sentiment square to the card front at a slight offset to the Galvanized Metallic Paper squares.
Slide one end of the strip of white cardstock into the unlocked Banner Triple Punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other end.
Mount the 2-line sentiment of choice from the Sorry For Everything Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched white strip.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon so there are sharp angles on either end.
Lay the ribbon across the center of the back of the stamped sentiment banner so a bit of ribbon hangs out on either side. Adhere in place using small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backings in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment banner with ribbon attached to the center of the card front so it overlaps the bottom of the "sorry" sentiment square.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere a Galvanized Button to the card front so it covers the end of the "y" on the "sorry" square.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Blackberry Bliss dot from a sheet of Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the button.
