Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2" x 8-1/4"
- 2-1/8" x 3-1/8" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3" from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 5/8" x 2-7/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 4" x 2" of green tropical leaves on white background from Tropical Escape 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- scrap of Mango Melody Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-1/4" wide
Fold the cardstock on all score lines so that all folds are mountain folds.
Insert the front of the card (the piece with the fold in the center) into the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Make sure the back of the card is hanging out where it will not catch on the sides of the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Fold the card front again along the score line as a mountain fold.
Adhere the Tropical Escape Designer Paper rectangle to the inside of the card along the bottom edge.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide the scrap of Mango Melody Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the So Hoppy Together Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of white cardstock.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the Mango Melody circle punch out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment circle to the top center of the designer paper piece on the inside of the card. This will help hold your easel card open.
Slide the upper right corner of the 2" x 3" white rectangle into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that punches the trio of pointy ovals on top of the small dot. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch.
Slide the upper, punched right corner of the 2" x 3" white rectangle into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that corner rounds. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch.
Slide the upper, right corner of the 2-1/8" x 3-1/8" Mango Melody rectangle into the angle of the Detailed Trio Punch that corner rounds. Use the guides on the base of the punch to line up the corner in the punch. Press down firmly on the center of the punch to punch.
Mount the frog with glasses stamp from the So Hoppy Together Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the corner rounded and punched 2" x 3" white rectangle so his feet are about 3/8" from the bottom edge.
Place the stamped frog image on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Markers to color in his belly.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Markers to color in the rest of the body. Make sure to leave the eyeballs uncolored for now.
Use the Light Daffodil Delight Marker to color in his eyes.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Markers to color the shadow under the frog. Be sure to make it large enough to be the shadow from his bouquet as well.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the stamped, colored, corner rounded, and punched white rectangle to the corner rounded Mango Melody rectangle.
Put two strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the matted frog image along the bottom 1" ONLY. Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and adhere the bottom of the matted frog image to the bottom half of the card front in the center.
Tip: When you fold along the score line, the top of the matted frog image should stick up.
As you are ready to stamp using the Bike Ride Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the outline bouquet of flowers image from the Bike Ride Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle.
Mount the group of three solid flowers image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad and stamp it inside the flower image already stamped on the white rectangle. If desired, rotate the stamp a tiny bit and stamp again over the previously stamped flower images to get more complete coverage and darker colors. You may want to re-ink the stamp again.
Mount the paper bouquet wrapping image from the Bike Ride Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad and stamp it inside the paper bouquet wrapping image already stamped on the white rectangle. If desired, shift the stamp a tiny bit and stamp again over the previously stamped paper bouquet wrapping image to get more complete coverage and darker colors. You may want to re-ink the stamp.
Pick out the matching bouquet framelit from the Build a Bike Framelits. Place the stamped bouquet image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the bouquet framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped bouquet image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bouquet cut out to the front of the card so it appears that the frog is holding the bouquet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small Granny Apple Green dot from a sheet of Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it over the dot in the bottom of the punched shape in the upper right corner of the matted frog image.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the small Mango Melody strip. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Mango Melody on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Mango Melody facing up).
Pick out the tiny butterfly thinlit from the Build A Bike Framelits. Place it on top of one end of the Mango Melody Cardstock piece on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat 2 more times on different sections of the Mango Melody strip until you have three tiny butterflies cut out.
One at a time, carefully remove the protective backings from the backs of the tiny Mango Melody butterfly cut outs. Adhere two of them randomly to the card front around the matted frog image. Adhere the third to the inside of the card on top of the designer paper piece near the sentiment circles.
