F un winter season card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Coastal Cabana Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2" x 4-1/4" of red and thin blue lines on white background design from Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3" x 3-3/4" of different hats and holly on white background design from Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Snowman Season Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the group of 4 snowflakes image from the Snowman Season Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp it diagonally across the front of the Coastal Cabana card from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the orientation of the stamp every so often. Let some of the images go off the edges of the card.
Tip: Save some time and ink and don't stamp in the center of the card front where it will be hidden by the designer paper anyway!
Adhere the hats design Let It Snow Designer Paper rectangle to the center of the striped Let It Snow Designer Paper rectangle so about 1/4" of striped paper shows at the top and bottom edges.
Adhere the designer paper rectangles to the front of the stamped card so the top edge is about 3/4" from the top and the right edge is about 1/2" from the right.
Mount the juggling snowman image from the Snowman Season Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on one end of the white strip in the center. Leave room to punch the image out.
Unlock the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped juggling snowman image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area so the juggled balls and flakes are near the top. Punch.
Put the stamped juggling snowman circle punch out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring the juggling snowman image with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark Pumpkin Pie Marker to color in the snowman's carrot nose.
Use the Light Bermuda Bay Marker to color in the sky around the juggling snowman and his juggled balls and flakes.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink. Also use it to lighten up the sky and blend the lines.
Adhere the colored juggling snowman circle punch out to the front of the card so it is about 1-1/4" from bottom and about 1/4" from the right side.
Cut a 3" piece of the Real Red 1/8" Curly Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at an angle on the lower left side of the juggling snowman circle punch out.
