S nail Mail is such a fun suite of products. Swing cards are easy and add interest to a card.
Project Recipe
Card Base: Cut Real Red 8 ½ X 11 paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½ X 5 ½ . Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½.
Card Front: Cut print paper from Snail Mail Designer Series Paper 4 X 5 1/4
Use 1 ¾” circle punch to punch two snail images from Snail Mail Designer Series Paper.
Use just a bit of adhesive to attach the print mat card mat at the top of the card front.
Use a 2 ¼” circle punch to punch a hole card front. Punch down as far as punch will insert over card front and mat. Carefully remove the card front from the card base.
Punch a 2” circle from Real Red. Cut a 4” piece of white twine that is part of this suite. Separate threads so you have just one thread. Use tear & tape to attach thread tightly above and below the punched circle. Lay a red circle under the thread, centered in the opening and attach the red circle to the thread.
Attach 1 circle punch snail to each side of the red circle. I added matte black dots over the eyes of the snail.
Cut a 1 ½” X 4” piece of print paper from Snail Mail Designer Series. Attach to card front below punched circle. I attached mine ¼” from the bottom of the print paper card front. Cut 12” of Real Red ribbon. Wrap around yellow print paper and knot to one side. Attach card front to red card base lining up circle opening in card front and card base.
That’s it; you have finished your card front. For the inside of your card, cut a piece of Whisper White 4 X 5 ¼. Stamp a sentiment or write a note before attaching this piece inside your card. Be aware of where circle opening from card front shows through to card insert, the sentiment is stamped below this opening so it doesn’t show to the front.
I stamped an image from the Snailed It stamp set in the lower left hand corner of my envelope with Real Red ink.
