S
ponge Brayers are fast becoming my "most fun to use" product. This card was a delight to make. So much so I made 10 of them to send out to customers!
Today I have added a printable Tutorial for you on how to make this card. You will soon see for yourself just how easy it is. I even had creative time left to quickly whip up some co-ordinating envelopes for the cards.
The Seasonal Decorative Masks will be retiring soon so don't delay on ordering yours. With 4 of them to a pack and 48 Ink Colours to choose from you'll have an endless supply of combinations to keep you creating. Be sure to check out the Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks available in our Annual Catalogue (Page 181, Item # 133777) for even more creative combos!
Project Recipe
Place an open Whisper White Note Card onto your Grid Paper.
Line up your chosen Masking Template so that the top finishes on the score line of your note card.
Use Washi Tape to hold the Template in place while you work. There is no need to move this for multiple cards. The cards simply slide in and out from the top.
Using your Sponge Brayer, gently pick up Ink from your pad by rolling the full length of the pad in one direction only. This ensures an even coverage.
Working from one side of the template to the other gently roll the brayer across. There's no need to be heavy handed, the colour will build up! Make sure to roll past the sides to avoid lines on your card.
Here I have started with the lightest of the 3 colours used, Mint Macaron.
Repeat Step 2 in the centre of the card using the Emerald Envy Ink Pad.
Be sure to overlap the colours slightly.
Repeat again on the bottom of the card using your 3rd colour, Pacific Point.
Before removing your card from under the template, gently wipe over the top from side to side, using a piece of Kitchen towel or tissue. This will remove any excess ink that will be on the top of your template. This helps avoid smears of colour where there shouldn't be!
Slide the card out from the top of the template. Just look at that beautiful blending that took no time or great effort!
Cut a strip of Whisper White Cardstock 12.5cm x 1.8cm.
Ink up the "A special note of thanks to you...." stamp from the Floral Phrases Stamp Set in Pacific Point Ink and stamp to the left of your Whisper White strip.
Place the strip into the Banner Triple Punch and punch the end.
Cut a 10cm piece of Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon, making to sure to cut one end on an angle.
Place an 8cm strip of Fast Fuse Adhesive onto the Note Card approx 2cm up from the bottom going from the left hand side.
Place the Ribbon over the Fast Fuse and gently press. Don't worry if there is some adhesive showing at the top as this will be covered by the sentiment strip in the next step.
Place a strip of Fast Fuse onto the back of the Sentiment strip. Adhere this to the card, lining up with the left hand side and covering the top of the ribbon.
Gently press down.
To finish the card off place an Emerald Green Enamel Shape to the left side of the sentiment.
