Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and vellum pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" of mottled white design from Graceful Greenery Vellum 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Pecan Pie Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Rustic Crate Set or Unbounded Love Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the 2-1/2" x 3" white rectangle.
Mount the line of herbs image from the Rustic Crate Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle in the center.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some white powder from the Basics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the image completely. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Fill the Water Painters with water. Note that the tops of the Water Painters screw on and off in the opposite direction of what you would expect.
Place the heat embossed herbs image on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Squeeze the lid of the Garden Green Ink Pad into the pad to get ink in the pad lid. Open the pad but leave the lid sticking out to the side. Gently squeeze the tip of a Water Painter to get some drops of water in the lid. Stir the water and ink together and get the brush tip nice and inky. Use the watery Garden Green Ink to add dark green to some of the areas of the heat embossed herbs.
Squeeze the lid of the Old Olive Ink Pad into the pad to get ink in the pad lid. Open the pad but leave the lid sticking out to the side. Gently squeeze the tip of a different Water Painter to get some drops of water in the lid. Stir the water and ink together and get the brush tip nice and inky. Scribble the watery Old Olive Ink all over the heat embossed herbs mage until you get the color coverage you want.
Set the watercolored herbs image aside to allow it to dry.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the Garden Green rectangle.
Mount the "just for you" sentiment from the Unbounded Love Set on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on the vertical Garden Green rectangle in the upper left corner.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some white powder from the Basics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the sentiment completely.
Use your fingers to tear the top off the vertical vellum piece as shown. Make sure the sentiment will be completely uncovered when you lay the torn vellum on the heat embossed sentiment Garden Green rectangle.
Mount the crate image from the Rustic Crate Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Pecan Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Pecan Pie rectangle.
Pick out the matching crate die from the Rustic Crate Dies. Put it on top of the stamped crate image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the crate is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
If the watercolored herbs image is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying by using the Heat Tool on the back of the image if desired.
Use a tissue or paper towel to rub excess ink off the top of the watercolored herbs where it pooled on the embossed lines.
Pick out the matching line of herbs die from the Rustic Crate Dies. Put it on top of the watercolored herbs image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the herbs are centered in the die. Run through the machine.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the torn vellum on the heat embossed sentiment Garden Green rectangle so the left, bottom, and right edges are even.
Adhere the crate cut out to the bottom right corner of the vellum so it is about 1/4" from the right side and about 3/8" from the bottom. Try not to get to much adhesive near the top of the crate.
Adhere the watercolored herbs cut out to the vellum so the bottoms of the herbs are behind the top of the crate and they are centered over the crate.
Put Stampin' Seal on the back of the vellum where it will be hidden by the herbs and crate.
Adhere the vellum in place to the Garden Green sentiment rectangle as before.
Adhere layered cardstock/vellum to the center of the remaining large white rectangle.
Adhere the matted rectangle to the center of the Old Olive card.
Carefully lift the upper right corner of the torn vellum and add 3 small drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue in an evenly spaced line going down. Adhere the vellum corner to the Garden Green rectangle,
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 small Pecan Pie dots from a sheet of Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them in a straight line down in the upper right corner of the vellum so they cover as much of the glue underneath as possible.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the white ribbon from the Petal Pink & White 1/4" Diagonal Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color both sides of the ribbon. Allow to dry for a few minutes.
Use your fingers to crinkle the colored ribbon a few times to soften it back up. Tie a small knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the lower left corner of the crate image on the card front as shown.
