P retty Christmas card using block stamping and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
Fill a Stampin' Spritzer with water.
Press Block D directly onto the open Pool Party Ink Pad to get one surface completely inked up. Lightly spritz the inky block with water using the Spritzer. Press the inky block directly onto the center of the white rectangle. Press firmly for a moment and then lift the block up. You should have a rectangle of mottled blue on the cardstock. Set it aside to let it dry.
If the background block image on the white cardstock is dry, proceed to the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying using a Heat Tool if you wish.
Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint while the lid is on tight. Remove the lid and place it on some Grid Paper on your work surface open end up. Poke a Sponge Dauber down into the lid to pick up some of the shimmer paint. VERY LIGHTLY, dab the shimmer paint on the colored block on the white cardstock to make little dots of shimmer. Get more shimmer paint on the dauber as needed. Put the lid back on the bottle and shake again if necessary.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side. Put the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on top of the foam mat on the Stamparatus.
Pick out the "Peace" sentiment from the Stylish Christmas Set. Place it upside down on the Small Grid Paper so the bottom of the word is on the horizontal 1-1/4" line on the Small Grid Paper and the right edge of the word is on the 1-1/2" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the sentiment stamp on the plate using the brush tip of the Shaded Spruce Marker. Close the plate onto the Small Grid Paper and press down firmly. Open the plate. Check to make sure the sentiment stamped right side up and straight. If not, adjust the stamp on the plate and try again. When happy with the positioning of the stamp, proceed to the next step.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
When you are happy with the placement of the sentiment stamp on the Stamparatus plate, place the block stamped white rectangle on the Stamparatus base so one long side is running horizontally across the top and the paper fits snugly into the corner of the Stamparatus. Hold the cardstock in place with the magnet. Re-ink the sentiment stamp with the Shaded Spruce Marker. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate. If you are not happy with the coverage you got, you can close the plate again and press firmly again or re-ink the stamp and try again.
Carefully clean the sentiment stamp while it is on the plate with the Simply Shammy. Be careful NOT to move the stamp.
Get some Frost White Shimmer Paint on the Sponge Dauber by pressing the dauber into the lid. Lightly daub shimmer paint onto the sentiment stamp on the plate. Close the plate onto the white cardstock and press firmly.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Immediately clean the sentiment stamp.
Remove the white cardstock from the base of the Stamparatus for now.
Pick out the single small pine tree stamp from the Rooted In Nature Set. Place it upside down on the Small Grid Paper so the bottom of the tree trunk is on the horizontal 3-1/4" line on the Small Grid Paper and the tree is centered over the 3-3/4" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Close the same side of the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the single tree stamp on the plate using the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Close the plate onto the Small Grid Paper and press down firmly. Open the plate. Check to make sure the tree stamped straight. If not, adjust the stamp on the plate and try again. When happy with the positioning of the stamp, proceed to the next step.

Hold the cardstock in place with the magnet. Re-ink the branches of the single tree stamp with the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Ink up the trunk of the tree with the brush tip of the Early Espresso Marker. Lightly tap randomly around on the branches with the brush tip of the Shaded Spruce Marker. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate. If you are not happy with the coverage you got, you can close the plate again and press firmly again.

Remove the white cardstock from the base of the Stamparatus for now.
Remove the plate from the hinges on the Stamparatus and flip it around so the other side of the plate will be facing down when closed. Put the plate back into the hinges.
Pick out the set of two small pine trees stamp from the Rooted In Nature Set. Place it upside down on the Small Grid Paper so the bottom of the lower tree trunk is just above the horizontal 3-1/4" line on the Small Grid Paper and the left edge of the left tree is on the 4-3/4" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.

Remove the stamped white cardstock from the Stamparatus and adhere it to the Shaded Spruce rectangle.
Tip: Since the cardstock did get wet, use a lot of SNAIL particularly around the edges of the white layer to make sure it stays flat.
Adhere the matted white rectangle to the front of the Pear Pizzazz card.
Carefully peel up two large white dots and one small white dot from a sheet of Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly on the stamped block background.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle in the lower right corner of the stamped block background.
