A Christmas card made with Stampin' Up! products and the "rock and roll" technique.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" of closely packed poinsettia flowers and leaves design from Rings Of Love 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1/4" x 5-1/8" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2" square from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Evening Evergreen
Cardstock
- 1-3/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
As you are ready to stamp using the Ringed With Nature Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the Rings Of Love Designer Paper strip and the thin Soft Suede strip on top of the bottom of the large, horizontal Petal Pink rectangle as shown.
Mount the "merry christmas" sentiment from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the horizontal Petal Pink rectangle just above the Soft Suede strip and as close as possible to the right edge.
When happy with the stamping of the sentiment, adhere the strip of Rings Of Love Designer Paper to the bottom of the stamped Petal Pink rectangle.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the Soft Suede strip in place so it covers the seam between the cardstock and designer paper.
Adhere the stamped and layered Petal Pink rectangle to the center of the Soft Suede rectangle and then to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the tree rings image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Pick out the single tree rings die that measures 2-1/8" x 2-1/4" and the smaller center tree ring hollow die from the dies included with the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put the tree rings die on top of the stamped tree rings Crumb Cake rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the tree rings as much as possible (you will cut off some of the edges). Put the tree ring hollow die in the center. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the tree rings cut out to the left side of the card so it is centered over the Soft Suede strip as shown.
Mount the poinsettia flower image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. BEFORE STAMPING, roll the edges of the inked up stamp across the open Poppy Parade Ink Pad a bit to get some red on the petal tips. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp the image in the center of the Petal Pink square.
If you are making multiples of this card, clean the poinsettia stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy before inking it up again to stamp another flower image.
Mount the set of tiny circles in a rough circle image from the Ringed With Nature Set. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the stamped poinsettia image on the Petal Pink square.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the poinsettia flower by hand.
Adhere the cut out poinsettia flower to the front of the card so it is over the lower left side of the tree rings cut out as shown.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to one side of the Evening Evergreen square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the leaf stem with berries die from the dies included in the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it on top of the Evening Evergreen square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Evening Evergreen (green) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the leaf stem with berries cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card so the bottom of the stem is tucked under the poinsettia cut out and the top is mostly on the tree rings cut out as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large Evening Evergreen opal from the sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card.
