Winter Woods Blending Brush Trees |
F all themed thank you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/8" of tiny white dots on dark green background design from Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper
- 1/2" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Mount the group of 5 bare trees image from the Winter Woods Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the horizontal Very Vanilla rectangle so the tops of the trees are about 1/4" from the top of the cardstock. Set aside to let dry for a few minutes.
Pick out the curving line of tiny dots die from the Curvy Dies. Put it on top of the Classic Christmas Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine as close to the top edge as possible. Make sure the dots are on the bottom edge of the die so you cut off the top of the rectangle. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Very Vanilla strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter label top) as far as it will go. Punch.
As you are ready to stamp using the Banner Year Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "with a grateful heart" sentiment from the Banner Year Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Merry Merlot Ink Pad. Stamp it on the punched sentiment strip so it is as close as possible to the punched edge with the punched edge on the right side.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Crushed Curry Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub it onto a couple of the stamped bare trees to add a haze of color around them. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed or rub off excess on Grid Paper before applying to your stamped image if needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Rub a different Blending Brush across the open Merry Merlot Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub it onto one of the stamped bare trees to add a haze of color around it. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed or rub off excess on Grid Paper before applying to your stamped image if needed.

Rub the final Blending Brush across the open Cajun Craze Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub it onto the remaining stamped bare trees to add a haze of color around them. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed or rub off excess on Grid Paper before applying to your stamped image if needed.

Adhere the die cut designer paper to the bottom of the stamped and blended vanilla rectangle so it covers the bottoms of the tree trunks. Trim off excess designer paper along the bottom edge as needed using Paper Snips.
Adhere the layered vanilla cardstock/designer paper to the Cajun Craze rectangle and then to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Trim off excess cardstock on the left side of the sentiment label punch out about 1/4" from the left side of the sentiment.
Adhere the sentiment strip punch out to the front of the card so it is just below the top of the designer paper and is about 1/4" from the right edge of the designer paper.
Cut a 4" piece of the Vanilla 1/2" Ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends marker to color the ribbon on both sides.
Tie a half knot in the center of the colored ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card on the left edge of the sentiment strip.
