The Smiles Of My Little Angel |
T he smiles of my grand daughter captured on film and backed onto Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.

Layout base for both pages is 12 x 12 Whisper White cardstock.
Trim 2 pages of 12 x 12 Mossy Meadow cardstock to 11 1/2 inch square.
DO NOT ADHERE to base yet (as you need to tuck ribbon under these mossy meadow pieces later on).
Take both pieces of the floral/blushing bride stripe from the Birthday Bouquet DSP, and cut to measure 11 3/8" x 4 1/2" and 11 3/8" x 6 7/8". After you have cut up both DSP pieces, simply turn one set over to give you the opposite version of the remaining set. Edge all pieces of DSP with Mossy Meadow Classic ink.
You will need 3 different 4 x 6" photos; one portrait and two landscape. Matt each photo with a backing piece of Pool Party cardstock edged with Mossy Meadow - measuring 4 1/4" x 6 1/4".
Adhere Birthday Bouquet DSP pieces to the Mossy Meadow matt cardstock as shown in the photograph, remembering that one page is the opposite version to the other page.
Measure 12 1/2" of Mossy Meadow 3/8" satin ribbon and adhere Tear and Tape to this length. Remove backing paper, and adhere ribbon to cover the join of the two pieces of Birthday Bouquet Floral/Stripe DSP. ** Butt the ribbon against the top edge of the bottom piece of Floral/Blushing Bride Stripe DSP paper. This will allow your layouts to line up exactly beside each other, as shown in the picture example. Tuck ends of ribbon under Mossy Meadow matt, and adhere assembled papers to Whisper White 12 x 12" base pieces.
OPTIONAL: If you have photos that have "background corner imperfections", there are lots of ways to disguise these imperfections. In this case, I covered the offending corner with a piece of Pool Party cardstock and layered three pieces of Mint Macaron lace over top to blend in with the knitted lacy shawl that the baby is laying on in the photo.
Place each photo onto each layout page as shown in the picture and adhere with Fast Fuse adhesive.
Cut a 2 1/2 x 4" piece of Pool Party cardstock and edge with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink.
Cut a 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and edge with Blushing Bride Classic Ink.
Cut a 2 x 3 1/2" piece of Whisper White Cardstock and edge with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink.
Stamp the Romper Suit from the Made With Love stamp set using Chocolate Chip Classic ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Die cut the Romper Set using the relevant die from the Baby's First framelits.
Edge the Romper Suit with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, and colour in the stripes of the suit using a fine aqua brush dabbed with Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi Classic Inks. These colour choices are optional, and can be change to suit your own individual taste.
Highlight with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, again to suit your own individual taste.
Layer Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Whisper White pieces with Fast Fuse adhesive.
Mount the Romper Suit using Dimensionals on top of the Whisper White cardstock, placing it at an angle.
Place on layout as shown in the picture.
Stamp the "the Best things in life aren't things" sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
OPTION: Before die cutting the Framelit, you can use the Chocolate Chip marker at an angle to outline the inner shape of the die to create a border (as shown in the picture).
Use the No. 5 die from the Lots of Labels Framelits set, (counting from smallest to largest), to cut out the sentiment.
Edge with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and adhere to layout page using Dimensionals. Refer to the picture for placement.
Using the "so many smiles ...." and "...being with you!" sentiments with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, create banners using the washi tape punch. Take care to centre the stamps on the Whisper White Cardstock as you punch them out.
Edge each banner with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink.
Adhere onto landscape photos layout, as shown in the picture with Fast Fuse.
Stamp the sentiment "To someone who makes others so happy!" using Chocolate Chip Classic ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. IMPORTANT: That you do not ink the word "To"on this stamp.
Cut the cardstock in a rectangle, making sure you have at least an 1/8" gap from the top of the wording and from the bottom of the wording. This gives your sentiment an even proportion.
Trim each landscape end of the cardstock with the washi tape punch. Line up the previous punched edge to punch again, so that you have an evenly spaced punched edge on each end of the sentiment. Take care to make sure the spaces on both sides of the sentiment are even. Refer to picture. Edge with Mossy Meadow Classic Ink. Then adhere with Dimensionals as shown in the layout picture.
To make the butterflies, the large and small butterfly stamps from the Papillion Potpurri set are used. The large and small butterfly punches are used in conjunction with these stamps.
Using vellum, stamp 3 large and 3 little butterflies in Versamark and then immediately with Pool Party Classic Ink. Cover with Clear Embossing Powder and set with the Heat Tool. Let cool, then punch with the relevant sized punch.
Repeat the steps above using Blushing Bride Classic Ink instead of the Pool Party Classic Ink.
Stamping onto Whisper White Cardstock, stamp 3 large butterflies and 3 small ones with both Pool Party and Blushing Bride Classic Inks.
Punch out with appropriate butterfly punches.
Fold Vellum butterflies in half and adhere to matching coloured Whisper White Cardstock butterflies using a slivered Dimensional in the spine of each butterfly.
Glue each butterfly randomly over both layout pages, as suits, using TomBow liquid glue.
I have glued the Pool Party butterflies on the Blushing Bride Stripe DSP as they stand out better. I have glued the Blushing Bride butterflies on the Floral DSP for the same reason.
Stand back and admire your work!!!
