For basic belly band:
- 1-1/2" x 11" of pattern of choice from Sweet Stockings 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, if there is a pattern make sure it is oriented the way you want on the horizontal strip
For belly band decoration for stocking with present and candy canes:
- 3-3/8" square from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2" from lines of different styles of white stitching on dark red background design from Sweet Stockings 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the horizontal strip
- 1-1/2" square of light red, diagonal, slashed lines on dark red background design from Sweet Stockings 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1" square of diagonal green lines design from Sweet Stockings 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
For belly band decoration for stocking with cat in Santa hat:
- 3" square from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
Fold the base card on all score lines so the larger flap is on the left side of the closed card.
Adhere the 3-1/4" x 4" piece of designer paper to the 3-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of cardstock. Then, adhere it to the front flap on the left side of the folded closed card.
Adhere the 2-1/4" x 4" piece of designer paper to the 2-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of cardstock. Then, adhere it to the front flap on the right side of the folded closed card.
Place the 4" x 9-1/2" piece of designer paper on your Paper Trimmer so the 9-1/2" edge is horizontal. Score at 1/2", 1", 4-1/2", 5", 5-1/2", and 9".
Place the scored 4" x 9-1/2" piece of designer paper on your Paper Trimmer so the 4" edge is horizontal. Score at 1" and 3-1/2". If there is a directional pattern on the paper, make sure the 1" score line will be at the top of the pattern.
Fold the designer paper on all score lines.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the rectangles on the ends of the paper strip and the rectangles in the center so the piece of designer paper looks as shown in the picture.
Fold the designer paper closed so the 1" flaps along the top of the design are even with each other. Use the handheld circle punch to punch two small holes just below the 1" score line on either side of the bag.
Cut two 5" pieces of the black/white Baker's Twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
Feed the ends of one of the twine pieces through the holes on one side of the bag from the front.. Secure the ends in place using small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Add more Tear & Tape Adhesive to the inside of the 1" flap, remove the protective backings from all Tear & Tape pieces, and fold the 1" flap closed hiding the ends of the twine. Repeat with the other twine piece on the other side of the bag.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the inside of the 1/2" flap on the edge of the bag. Remove the protective backing and adhere the edge to the other end of the side of the bag.
Make sure the bottom 1/2" flaps of the bag are folded out flat. Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on both bottom flaps on the outside of the bag.
Lay the folded closed bag with the bottom flaps sticking out flat onto the inside of open base card so the bottom of the bag flaps are even with the 3-1/2" score line and the top of the bag is facing to the right. Remove the protective backing from the bottom flap that is showing. Fold the left flap of the card base closed and press firmly. Reopen the card base.
Push the bag flat so the top of the bag is facing to the left. Remove the protective backing from the bottom flap that is showing. Fold the entire right side of the card base closed and press firmly. Reopen the card base. You should now have a pop-up bag attached to the left side of the open card base.
Adhere the 2-3/4" x 4" piece of designer paper to the left flap of the open card base just beside the left side of the pop-up bag.
Adhere the 2-1/4" x 4" piece of designer paper to the right flap of the open card base.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Little Stockings Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink as needed.
Place the 4" x 4-1/4" piece of white cardstock on your work surface so the 4-1/4" edge is horizontal. Mount the "Christmas Greetings" sentiment from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block H. Ink it up with the ink pad of choice (I used Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen) and stamp it near the top of the white rectangle so it is centered side to side.
Mount the "sending lots of love" sentiment from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block H. Ink it up with the ink pad of choice (I used Old Olive and Evening Evergreen) and stamp it just below the previously stamped sentiment so it is centered.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the inside of the open card base just to the right of the pop-up gift bag.
Add a gift card, money, or small, flat treat to the gift bag. Write your message on the stamped white rectangle. Fold the card closed so the side flaps overlap however you wish.
Wrap the 1-1/2" x 11" strip of designer paper around the center of the card horizontally to form a belly band. The ends should come together near the center of the front of the closed card. Don't wrap the belly band too tight or it will be too hard to slide it on and off the card. Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the ends of the designer paper strip together.
For the stocking with present and candy canes belly band:
Cut a 5" piece of the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2" Metallic Ribbon so it has a sharp angle on each end. Lay the ribbon horizontally across the center of the belly band. Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the center to adhere the ribbon in place. Leave the protective backing on the Tear & Tape in place for now.
Pick out the scalloped circle die that cuts out a 3" scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the square of Evening Evergreen Cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the small, open leaves sprig image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the scalloped circle cut out. Remember to re-ink the image each time. Change the orientation of the stamp every so often. Let some of the images go off the edge of the cardstock.
Mount the largest stocking image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Old Olive rectangle.
Pick out the matching, largest stocking die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped stocking image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the stocking. Run through the machine.
Adhere the stocking cut out to the center of the stamped, scalloped circle cut out at a slight angle. Be sure to leave room for the candy canes and don't put adhesive across the top of the stocking so you can slide the candy canes under the top of the stocking.
Pick out the candy cane die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of one side of the stitched white lines on red background Sweet Stockings Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the stripes will run horizontally across the candy cane cut out. Be sure to leave room to cut out another candy cane. Run through the machine. Repeat to cut out another candy cane so you have 2.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the back of the bottoms of the candy canes only. Adhere them to the scalloped circle cut out so the bottoms of the candy canes are tucked behind the top of the stocking as shown.
Pick out the two holly leaves die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the diagonal green lines Sweet Stockings Designer Paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the holly leaves cut out to the top of the stocking just below the hanging loop on the right side.
Mount the short, fat present image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the diagonal dashed lines on red background Sweet Stockings Designer Paper square so the dashed lines run horizontally across the present in the opposite direction of the horizontal lines of the present image.
Pick out the short, fat present die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped present square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the present image. Run through the machine.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the present cut out to the scalloped circle cut out so it overlaps the heel of the stocking a bit at a slight angle.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive holding the ribbon to the belly band. Add some more short pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to the center of the belly band and remove the protective backings. Adhere the scalloped circle cut out to the center of the belly band.
For the stocking with cat in Santa hat belly band;
Cut a 15" piece of the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2" Metallic Ribbon. Tie it around the center of the belly band using a knot. Position the knot to the right side for now. Trim the ends.
Pick out the scalloped circle die that cuts out a 2-1/2" scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the square of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the smallest stocking image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Old Olive rectangle.
Pick out the matching, smallest stocking die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped stocking image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the stocking. Run through the machine.
Adhere the stocking cut out to the center of the scalloped circle cut out at a slight angle close to the bottom. Be sure to leave room for the cat face and Santa hat at the top.
Mount the cat face image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Cinnamon Cider rectangle.
Pick out the matching cat face die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cat face image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the cat face. Run through the machine.
Adhere the cat face cut out to the top of the stocking on the scalloped circle cut out.
Mount the Santa hat image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Cherry Cobbler rectangle.
Pick out the matching Santa hat die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped Santa hat image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the hat. Run through the machine.
Use the White Stampin' Chalk Marker to color in the pompom and trim on the Santa hat cut out by dabbing the tip of the marker up and down.
Adhere the colored Santa hat cut out to the top of the cat's head on the scalloped circle cut out. Make sure no adhesive hangs over the top of the circle cut out.
Put some Stampin' Dimensionals in the canter of the belly band around the ribbon. Remove the protective backings and adhere the scalloped circle cut out to the center of the belly band.
Adjust the position of the ribbon knot if needed so it is just to the right of the scalloped circle cut out.
