F un "out-of-the-box" birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
-1-1/2" x 4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 3" of red circle berries in circular groups of four on white background design from Painted Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 3" of red herringbone lines on white background design from Painted Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Ice Cream Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "happy birthday," "thank you," or "treat yourself" sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it about 3/8" from the bottom of the vertical, large vanilla rectangle so it is centered side to side.
Unscrew the fine brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Put some drops of Real Red Ink Refill into a container or on a large clear block or other non-porous surface. Squeeze a couple of drops of water from the Water Painter into the ink. Mix the ink and water together and get the tip of the Water Painter loaded with inky water.
Hold the inky tip of the Water Painter a couple of inches over the sentiment stamped vanilla rectangle at a slightly above horizontal angle. Tap the brush tip end of the Water Painter sharply with your finger to make drops of inky water splatter onto the cardstock. Move the position of the Water Painter around and get more inky water on the tip as needed until you've got all the splatters you want. Set aside to allow to dry.
Tip: The closer you hold the tip of the Water Painter to the cardstock, the larger the splatters will be.
Tip: Make sure you move everything you don't want to get splatters on out of the way before splattering!
Mount the ice cream scoop image from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the remaining vanilla strip. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again on the vanilla strip.
Mount the small, solid popsicle stick image from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on the already ice cream scoop stamped vanilla strip in a blank area. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again on the vanilla strip in another blank area.
Mount the small popsicle stick lines image from the Sweet Ice Cream Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of one of the previously stamped popsicle stick images. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it over the top of the other previously stamped popsicle stick image.
If the splattered, large vanilla rectangle is dry, adhere it to the center of the large Soft Suede rectangle.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Real Red 1/8" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon across the upper right corner of the large, matted, splattered sentiment rectangle. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Soft Suede rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Real Red card.
Unlock the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the round berries design of Painted Christmas Designer Paper strip into the punch and get it centered in the bottom of the ice cream cone punching area so you will punch out a small triangle. Punch. Slide the strip over a bit (trimming off excess as needed using Paper Snips) and punch out another small triangle. Leave the punch unlocked.
Hold the unlocked punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the herringbone design of Painted Christmas Designer Paper strip into the punch and get it centered in the bottom of the ice cream cone punching area so you will punch out a small triangle. Punch.
Adhere the designer paper triangle punch outs to the upper right corner of the card front so the flat bottoms of the triangles are tucked under the ribbon and they overlap slightly. The herringbone triangle should be in the center.
Cut a 3" piece of the Real Red 1/8" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front between the top and middle triangles. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the end.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the stamped ice cream scoops by hand. Cut off the center bump on each scoop using a slightly curved line so you end up with two "Mickey Mouse" head outlines.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the stamped popsicle sticks by hand.
Adhere the popsicle stick cut outs to the backs of the "Mickey Mouse" head cut outs using Stampin' Dimensionals to make Mickey Mouse ice cream pops.
Add more Stampin' Dimensionals to the backs of the ice cream pop cut outs as needed. Remove the protective backings and adhere the ice cream pop cut outs so they overlap each other a bit in the center of the card front as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 rhinestones from a sheet of Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card as shown.
