Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2-5/8" x 5-1/2" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
Cut the bottom and one side off of a page protector so it opens up like a card.
Place the white strip on top of a piece of copy paper near the center. Draw a rough outline of the cardstock around the cardstock about 1/2" from the edges using a dark colored marker.
Place the piece of copy paper under the back flap of the page protector.
On the top side of the back flap of the page protector (the inside of the "card" where you'd normally stamp a sentiment or write a note) draw several curvy lines across the area on top of the outline drawn on the copy paper using the brush tip of the Night of Navy Marker. Let some of the lines converge.
Use the brush tip of the Balmy Blue Marker to draw lines right next to the lines of Night of Navy on the inside of the page protector. Let the lines touch. Scribble on Grid Paper to remove the dark blue color from the marker tip when you are done drawing the lines.
Use the brush tip of the Pool Party Marker to draw thick lines next to the Balmy Blue lines on the inside of the page protector. Let the lines touch. Scribble on Grid Paper to remove the darker blue color from the marker tip when you are done drawing the lines.
Use the brush tip of the Soft Sea Foam Marker to color in any remaining open areas between the lines on the inside of the page protector. Scribble on Grid Paper to remove the darker color from the marker tip when you are done.
Spray the inside of the page protector with water to make the colors merge and run together. Place the piece of white cardstock on top of the colored area inside the page protector. Close the page protector and press firmly all over the area where the cardstock is.
Tip: An old Stampin' Mist bottle filled with water is good for spraying water.
Open the page protector and carefully remove the white cardstock. Set it aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: If you are making multiples of this card, wipe out the inside of the page protector with a baby wipe or damp paper towel when you are done with this step before starting over again. If you are only making one of this card, you can throw the page protector away.
Tip: You can speed up drying of the white cardstock using a Heat Tool if desired.
Pick out the large star with small holes up and down the arms and a starburst in the center thinlit from the Starlight Thinlits. Place the Soft Sea Foam rectangle on the Precision Base Plate on the platform on the Big Shot. Place the star thinlit in the center. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces. You will have the star pattern cut into the rectangle but not cut out as a separate piece yet.
Pick out the the large, open star framelit from the Starlight Thinlits. Place the Soft Sea Foam rectangle with the star shape cut into it on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the star framelit on top so it is centered over the star shape. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Keep the large, open star framelit out for use in the next step.
Place the smaller Night of Navy rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the large, open star framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the cut out Soft Sea Foam star to the top of the solid Night of Navy star.
Put some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the matted star cut outs. Leave the protective backings in place for now.
If the colored white strip is dry, proceed with the next step.
As you are ready to stamp using the Star of Light Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Guide us to ..." sentiment from the Star of Light Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the colored white strip on the right side so it is about 5/8" in from the right side.
Mount the set of three small, solid stars image from the Star of Light Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it about 1/2" above the right side of the sentiment on the colored white strip.
Adhere the colored and stamped white strip to the long strip of Night of Navy and then to the front of the Soft Sea Foam card.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals on the back of the matted star cut outs. Adhere some loops of Silver Metallic Thread to the Dimensionals.
Adhere the matted star cut outs with thread attached to the left side of the card front so it is centered over the colored white strip.
Carefully peel up a medium gem from a sheet of Clear Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the matted star cut outs.
